Sarah Palin resigning as Alaska governor

The Wasilla soap opera just gets weirder as Palin complains critics are "picking apart a good point guard"

The Palin Comparison

Nothing unexpected here from the Republicans. When it comes to swiftboating patriots who actually had the courage to go into combat for their country, they are fearless. When it comes to confronting (from a distance) unarmed animals with high-powered rifles, they cannot be surpassed. When it comes to enduring justified criticism, they cut and run. We can add Palin to the proud ranks of Bush, Cheney, Romney, and Limbaugh. She is a real warrior.

Oh... Redstate is so funny...

"4. I’ve had this running thought all day, perhaps because I was watching it on TV in HD for the first time, that this is kind of like Ben Kenobi letting Darth Vader strike him down. Palin is not going to run in 2012, but by doing this she can now become Barack Obama’s worst nightmare, and help rebuild the opposition to Obama. How? Because were she to remain a 2012 contender, she’d keep having stories by anonymous McCain campaign staffers and other 2012 contenders going after her and her family. Take that ambition off the table and it neutralizes a lot of that. So she can focus on candidates and ideas without an ulterior motive focused on 2012."

Can't. Stop. Laughing.

Oh, only because...

...according to the cult, your god was supposed to be able to pull this stuff out of hats without the aid of teleprompters. (Do you recall, cult members? (Jumping up and down with both hands clasped over your hearts?)) He was supposed to be some kind of speechmaker, do you recall? A creative toastmaster, the kind the ladies went faint over. A regular Winston Churchill.

Now we know that without the aid of the precomposed words of Jon Favreau, David Axelrod and others, he cannot not remember how many states are in the Union, whether he's of the Muslim or Christian faith, when he's not yammering in midsentence altogether attempting to think of how to complete a sentence.

But over the the last six months alone, you discovered he actually deliberately lies to the people more than Sarah Palin.

brother

Ya know, after that screed, I have to question readerreader's sanity.

I suspect he's not well. Or he's one of the world's most talented trolls.

Maybe I am just too cynical about Movement Conservatives

But I have to believe that after David Letterman made his crude jokes about Sarah and the crew, Todd and Sarah went straight to a lawyer only to find out that making a case for libel is much more difficult if you are a political official - political speech trumps libel under all but the most extenuating circumstances.

So Sarah has a book coming out and if she can get the gossip rags fired up with baseless rumors about her and hubby and little Trig, she may also be seeing some profitable returns from litigation. Early retirement, the American Dream.

Face it

Put 30 pounds on her, take off the make-up and hair extensions and no one would listen to a word Sarah Palin said. If, after yesterdays nonsensical statement, you insist on thinking Sarah Palin is presidential material or even radio talk show material, you deserve her.

Sandra Bernhard, Todd S. Purdom, Linda Kellen Biegel, and David Letterman

Obama did not complete even 50% of his term before starting his run for president. Double standard 24/7 in the U.S.A.

The Alaska DNC blogger, Linda Kellen Biegel, the wormy Todd S. Purdom, the petty Sandra Bernhard and creepy old man David Letterman combine to show any woman who is not the way they think she be that she will be pecked into dust. Sarah Palin is smart to get out and regain her freedom.

Nathan Bedford Forrest??????

Did you really just compared Sarah Palin to the founder of the Ku Klux Klan? Wow!

ignore terkoy

Terkoy is clearly living in some kind of alternate universe. Or, he/she is just crazy.

Or, of course, he's just a mildly-talented troll. I'd vote for troll if he didn't sound so ignorant, and so sincere.

He's a joke, in any case. Worth a laugh, but not worth a post.

Saturday, July 4, 2009 07:46 AM

@terkoy

So, when Palin came out swinging during the presidential campaign she didn't set the tone for the McCain camp?

Perhaps she got what she deserved - rejection by thinking voters and much blame from Republicans for McCains' failure to be elected.

Don't cry for Palin. I have a sickening feeling that she and Fox are cooking something up.

Saturday, July 4, 2009 07:50 AM

This suggestion just in:

From a comment in The Anchorage Daily News:

"Do you think we could get Tina Fey to do the last 16 months of the term?"

Saturday, July 4, 2009 07:50 AM

@virtue001: You are a jerk

Could it be that she's drop-dead gorgeous? And you're... well... let's just say put off by that? Hmmm...

Jerk.

palin

"In the words of General MacArthur, we are not retreating, we are advancing in another direction,"

those were not macarthur's words, they were the words of the marine commander who found himself surrounded by the chinese army due to macarthur's negligence.

simple sarah should never, never try to quote history.

Saturday, July 4, 2009 07:54 AM

A dream GOP bill

How about Sarah Palin for prez, Mark Sanford for veep? Call it the mixed-up confusion ticket. The GOP is in such deep trouble, Mitt Romney's looking good for 2012. Sarah and Mark are bizarre, indeed, perfect political counterpoint to the never-ending saga of Michael Jackson's death.

Saturday, July 4, 2009 07:57 AM

Obama didn't quit

Hey Grace Marie, Obama didn't quit, he was able to take the heat (and contiues taking the heat), run a flawless presidential campaign and continue serving as Senator for Illinois. Where is the double standard? Face it, she is not qualified!

Saturday, July 4, 2009 07:58 AM

"They" won't "face it"

As one of "them" said, "Sarah, she's our rock star." It's the politics of envy. In unguarded moments (or if you wait long enough), they tell you exactly what they're really thinking, often becoming the source of their revelation.

Saturday, July 4, 2009 07:58 AM

If you are angry...

... at how the liberal media destroyed Palin you can fight back in many ways. The end-goal is to ensure that Obama will never see a robust economic recovery during his 8-year tenure. Withdraw your economic support and it will happen. Make the liberals taste the bitter bile of defeat.

Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Waiting for the real story

This so called speech was so incoherent it seemed that she was in a hurry to get out of town. Watch for the real story to come out in the next two weeks. It is easier to quit than to be served with an indictment for embezzlement while in office. For all the apologists for this equipped woman, she brought it on herself! You go into the limelight and you are a target. Get over it. Democrats did not make her stupid and nobody ever forced her to put her foot in her mouth or be a vile, hateful person, but she is. Think about it.
