"Palin's treatment by the media (and the Democratic public) is the exact opposite of that awarded to Obama, another very inexperienced politician and whose soaring "I feel a tingle down my leg when I hear him!" speeches were (are still?) typically delivered with the help of a teleprompter."
Obviously you don't watch Fox News.
And I hope you are not denying that in interviews Palin always came off as looking like an idiot, where as Obama (even on Bill O's show) looked smart, crisp, articulate, competent, well informed, cool, calm, and collected.
Obama has actively given the media limited exposure of himself and his family, where as Palin has literally thrown herself and her family at the media every chance she can get.
Please give credit where credit is do, and criticism where criticism do.
I am sure that if Obama had had an underage, unmarried pregnant daughter, he would not have ran for President.
Palin could have sat on her 80% approval in Alaska, but she let her ambition get the best of her (even though she wasn't competent), and allowed her troubled family to be put through media hell.
She didn't have to accept the running mate role, but she made her bed and now she is going to have to lie in it.
are painful and it doesn't make much sense to you Communists but get used to it. You'll have to live with it just as we're forced to tolerate refugees from The Daley Thug Machine.
Svutlov: "...in the mean while I'm going to talk about sex, clitorises, and orgasms as much as I can."
I think you should create abstract paintings about them.
Svutlov: "I also canceled my cable."
This sounds like some sort of Freudian statement.
Anyway, I appreciated your take on sex vs. violence and how they correspond to liberals vs. conservatives. It's ironic since if you look at Sarah Palin's family, obviously one or two of them have plenty of sex (and one assumes not much violence).
There is much to be written about the forces of violence and how they drive the Republican party. How many defense companies are in the U.S.? How many of them are located in predominantly conservative communities? I think of Colorado and the companies there that make bombs and missiles. Those workers spend the whole day putting together instruments designed to blow the bejesus out of villages on the other side of the earth, then they go home and pray to Jesus.
Just think what an incredible part of the U.S. economy is built upon the manufacture of weapons. What happens when the gears that drive that economy slow down? People can't pay their mortgages. They need to sell bombs to live. So the pressure grows and the billionaires pull strings. Soon politicians are beating war drums. War is good for business.
So the Republican puppets get their strings yanked in response to a disputed Iranian election. How can this Iranian crisis be leveraged to cause war? How can we maneuver the situation to our advantage? Let's chide Obama for not rattling his saber. Let's stir up this pot. Let's stimulate our economy.
The Iranian crisis is a business crisis for the military-industrial complex. All the protesters -- humanized! All those middle-class, likeable Iranians -- photographed! How can we bomb Iran now? Argh.... At least we have Afghanistan.
If this all sounds conspiratorial, sure it is. But it's also well-documented. War is big business. Conflict shakes the money tree.
Sex is good, too....as long as people are having babies. More babies means more population growth, and more growth means more expansion and construction. Expansion and construction lead to positive return on investments. A static population means a stagnant economy.
The key is to promote sex without promoting knowledge about sex. Stimulate people to copulate but not to analyze the process of stimulation. You don't want people to understand their sexual urges, because that would allow them to bring those same urges under control. Then they'll be able to choose to have smaller families, and that's terrible for the economy.
So yes to war. No to abortion. Yes to guns. No to porn. Yes to capital punishment. No to gay marriage. Etc.
