It would be very difficult for a President of the United States to call a press conference and say, "I'm sorry but I can't go on pretending that I can do this job. It was forced upon me in many ways and I've tried my best to meet the expectations of those who wield the power to have put me here, but I have had enough. I want to go back to Texas and take a look around for a self. Maybe I have one and it is there somewhere on a baseball diamond or on a mountain bike trail. It was my white tie event for the Queen that put it all into perspective for me. She was born into queenness and can never escape it. It's sad to look at her and to see her struggling inwardly against those royal chains. I'm an American and I think I have the right to escape this Presidency if it is making me feel bad about myself. So, so long, Dick is taking over as of today. And by the way (a wink here)it's true about Condi and me and those rumours about me and Joan Walsh, yeah, true too.
