The buck stops where?

Our delusional president laments the "intelligence failure" that identified nonexistent WMD in Iraq and admits he was "unprepared" for war.

The letters thread is now closed.

Anyways

How was Bush a failure?

He ruled for eight years in a way that granted countless and invaluable benefits to those he considers his constituents, the billionaires and trillionaires of the planet.

The rest of us, the guts and core of the nation, the actual WEALTH BUILDERS? He'd just as soon pop us all off if it would not have an effect on the bottom line.

He knows this, Democrap leaders know this, meaning they are suckling at the SAME teat of hyper wealth as the Repulsickans, which means there is no two parties in America, only one and arrayed AGAINST the interests of the populace (except, occasionally, by caprice).

@Eucalpytus the Wanker

Eucalpytus: "The fact that no one mentions this treasure trove of neocon thinking shows how disconnnected you all are with the things that make your country work. Look it up. Just google the title and it there in black and white."

Actually somebody here did mention the PNAC, the Neocons, etc. The only reason we aren't talking about it more is that we have 39235 other things to mention, and we're just getting warmed up. Don't assume people don't know about something just because they don't mention it at the drop of your bowler cap.

Eucalyptus: "I came across it during a study I did for a cultural studies project during my university degree and was awarded a distinction for my research..."

Ooooh, wowie zowie! You mean somebody gave you an AWARD??? Did you get a gold star, maybe, or was it a blue ribbon? That's a good lad! A very good lad! Just remember this: You can't have any pudding if you don't eat your meat!

Eucalyptus: "...yet you yanks, whose country it is after all, just bumble around making "after the event" comments and feel morally and intellectually superior...."

Better yanks than WANKS like yourself, ya tosser. Or should we lecture you about Tony Blair? He was, after all, the lapdog. At least we had a genuine asshole for a leader. You had an asslicker.

Not Nice

"At least we had a genuine asshole for a leader. You had an asslicker."

-- Xrandadu Hutman

Blair was the only one to join Bill Clinton's coalition of two against Iraq in December 1998, but it's not nice to call Clinton and Blair names. I'm sure they really believed Saddam had WMD when they launched the preemptive strike known as Operation Desert Fox. Unfortunately, they were busy do that and the illegal war of chouce in Kosovo at the very same time the 9/11 Commission report tells us that bin Laden and al Qaeda were planning 9/11.

@Groenhagen

Groenhagen: "The man-child entering the White House next month is certainly unprepared for, among other things, war."

What's this "man-child" crap? So a man's a child because he's only 47 years old? Or is that your euphemism for "boy"? Or what? Obama's no more a man-child than any of the past several presidents.

Right On, Joan

The failure of intelligence lay between the ears of our lame-duck President. And we can find it residing there, still.

Thursday, December 4, 2008 06:35 AM

Deceiver

I agree hold hearted with Joan, however lets see if Campbell Brown holds Bush or Gibson accountable for the questions and answers like she does with Barack. I liked the part where Laura said he had kept us safe for eight years, and Gibson did not ask her who was President on 9/11. How this poor excuse for a man said he was sorry, yet placed the blame for the war and the economy on Clinton and his Father and Laura after years of being an enabler to a alcoholic sat there and smiled as a partner in his complicities in his continued deceptions.

@Groenhagen

Manchild, what the hell is up with this manchild bullshit anyway? What do you mean? You are just another name calling, probably fat, white guy, maybe from Georgia, and your parents are obviously brother and sister.

You guys never step off do you. You are the reason this country has been wrecked. You are stupid, you voted for a guy because you think you are rich, haahahahahahah, and he would save your money. You hate people who have less than you do, but the funniest part is you are probably a blue collar yokel, you barely have any money of your own, and are constantly fooled by those smarter than you who say they are on your side. You have voted against your own self interest because you are stupid. You are probably between 40 and 50 years old. You own guns and too much ammunition because you are scared of something that doesn't exist. You think GW Bush is just like you! Hahahah which is the biggest laugh of all, you might be one of his drivers or workers, but in a million years you would never be one of GW's friends.

So call names, go ahead, vote against your own self interest, go out and buy another gun if you have to, have a six pack, slap your wife and kids and go back to redstate where they love to hear the angry blue collar white asshat. They know deep down inside you are dumb and will always vote against your self interest because you want to be one of the rich guys.... hahahahaha, that will never happen moron. Now get back to the garage and wash my brand new BMW 750li. That is the only way you are ever going to get near one.

@Groenhagen regarding "Horseface"

Why are you calling Ann Coulter bad names?

Regarding the WMD intelligence, etc., the fact that Democrats screwed up royally by voting to authorize war powers doesn't get Bush off the hook for actually starting a war. Sorry.

Thursday, December 4, 2008 06:38 AM

Not quite true

freespeak: "So, Clinton accomplished exactly what Bush did... We didn't have another terrorist attack on US soil for the remainder of his two terms."

U.S. embassies are considered U.S. soil. Al Qaeda bombed two embassies in Africa in August 1998, killing hundreds and injuring over 5,000. Al Qaeda also bombed the USS Cole, killing 17 sailors and nearly sinking that ship.

Those attacks, as well as 9/11, were apparently the "messages with no words" that bin Laden said he would send Clinton in response to Clinton's policies vis-a-vis Iraq. Bin Laden claimed that those policies killed more than 500,000 Iraq children, a statistic that Madeleine Albright seemed to accept as true.

P.S. I hope no one minds me calling the author of this dreadful and dishonest column "Horseface." It's just that after reading her column and the comments, I wanted to fit in with a little name-calling of my own.
