Daniel Ellsberg many years ago counted twenty-six threats by American poliiticians to use nukes. (Always against nations not having them.) France was insulted by correctly rejecting being drawn into the quicksand of the Mideast by writers such as George Will saying "How many divisions are needed to defend Paris?"
