Fox, schmox and GOP thuggery
All independent polls suggest that a Dem taking the White House next year is quite feasible.
It's also likely that Dems will retain control of the House and Senate.
When that happens I will throw the biggest party I can afford and will laugh my ass off to know that all the king's horses and all the king's men with the aiding and abetting of a compliant MSM could not put these GOP thugs back in power again.
Screw 'em all, screw 'em all, the long and the short and the tall.

Fox being Fox
I was watching Sally Field's speech when the sound and picture went out. My first thought was she must have used a swear word and she was bleeped. But when the next picture showed her leaving the stage with the applause of the audience, I really wondered what she had said.
I watched the uncut Canadian version of the end of her speech just now. My first thought was NOT that she said a swear word but that it was Fox network that cut off her words which were against the war. It is no secret that Fox is the unabashed advocate/protector of the current administrations' position on this war. My Momma used to say "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen". If any US citizen is prevented from speaking or from being heard, then we have lost a lot more than this war.

Bravo Fox
Never been much of a fan of Fox myself but anyone with the common sense to cut off Sally Field's blathering (pro-war, anti-war or pro once a month pharmaceuticals) is alright with me.

Anonymous won't be the only one throwing a huge party if Dems take the White House ...
Mahmud Ahmadinejad, Fidel Castro (if he's still alive), Kim Jong Il, Hugo Chavez, Osama bin Laden, and every other garden variety enemy of America will be partying down too.

The Sound of one madman crapping
Oh yeah--Hitler--Osama Bin Laden, Kim jong Il, and Amadinejed friends of yours?) are all plonked in front of their plasmas, delighting in the ant-war speeches of traitors in Hollywood.
It's quite obvious Hitler can't get laid.

A muzzle or a favor?
Oh, pah-leeze. Get over yourselves. Fox cut her because she appeared to be a babbling idiot. Even what they didn't cut was embarrassing and uncomfortable to watch, to say the least. Add to that a good strong "God damn" and she was toast. They did her a favor.

If mothers ruled the goddamned world
there would not be wars in the first goddamn place.
Fuck an a, Sally, you tell 'em. They can't take it.
They will call you out and put you down but you know where you stand and they don't know how to stand without killing someone else, the mother fucking god damned asshole war loving know nothings.
Yeah, I said that and Sally agrees and y'all don't stand a chance.

If mothers ruled the world, there would be no goddamn wars
I do believe that is what Sally field said, though she had to say it in a rush if it was going to make it to air as she had gone over her time limit.
Of course she was turning an old sexism on its head and turning it to her advantage when she said that (the one about women being inherently nurturing; the reason offered by the patriarchy for why women shouldn't have a career and should stay home and rear children). Since she won for her role as a mother, she used that as the pretext to launch into her anti-(Iraq) war sentiments at a time when dissenting voices weren't being heard on 'mainstream' (because most of them are conservative or right wing)networks (I'm not talking about HBO). The mother she plays on "Brothers and Sisters" is a left-leaning liberal (rather like Sally Field herself, bless her heart)so what she really means, is: if left-winger idealists or leftist feminists ruled the world, there would be no goddamn wars. Thatcher was a Neo-conservative (that is, for laissez-faire capitalism) and thoroughly fashioned in the image of conservative men, whose patronage and support she relied on to get to her powerful position. In order to attain power, she had divest herself of her womanly qualities and assume masculine traits (at least admired by male elites at the time)or she would not have succeeded. She had to prove herself, in other words, on men's terms. But, at the same time, she had to still play up some of her feminine attributes (be coiffured and wear tailored skirts). She could not be de-feminized; she had to be lady-like but not weak. Not for nothing was she referred to as the Iron lady. She had to look respectable and have an immaculate, set hairstyle and dress impeccably as one would expect from a woman of high society but she had to act like a man (be tough). Claiming her being a mother didn't make her any less war-like, than men, then, is a shallow observation because it fails to take into account that power in our society is masculinized, so that even when a woman secures some she has to conform to a male structure; men's ways of thinking; men's methods of ruling; men's rules.

God D
God damn is used every day on television. (ie West Wing) FCC says you can say "God Damn" damn it!
