Joan, do you ever place the rule of law above politics?
If so, I've not seen it. Few persons who would describe themselves, or be described by others, as politically informed would assert Bush-Cheney, Inc., was unworthy of being investigated for high crimes and misdemeanors. Yet, that didn't stop you from arguing against impeachment proceedings.
Political expedience shouldn't trump the laws to which the rest of us peons are hopelessly chained, but, thanks in large part to the Royal Punditry, it does.
Sooner or later, when it finally suits your frayed, nebulous ends, you won't be able to resist the temptation to bolster your politically expedient position du jour with sober recitations on the supremacy of The Law. I may or may not agree with you when that time comes, but, either way, it is extremely unlikely you will have a leg to stand on, assuming one of your many talents isn't spontaneous limb production.
Not that it matters. Being wrong is the last thing that will ever bite into your face time.
