Ari Fleischer's big failure

The Bush flack's much-hyped Freedom's Watch is going belly up.

The letters thread is now closed.

Excellent

I am glad they've gone belly up, and no doubt Fleischer will do just fine. Whatever!

Off Topic, was in San Francisco over the weekend, and boy was the weather beautiful!

From Joan Walsh

Ha -- I was in rainy Portland instead! But I got to see my adorable nephews, so it was all good.

At least one thing to give thanks for....

is that Ari will be sucking his thumb for awhile, instead of disgorging more lies and contempt for reason.

Monday, November 24, 2008 04:35 PM

Oh please, oh please

In the anti-meritocracy that is the GOP, Fleischer is sure to be rewarded with another cushy post, but let's celebrate small victories.

Or maybe he'll get an important GOP post and then we can celebrate TWO victories.

Ari Fleischer: a shameless liar for a corrupt Administration.

Good riddance to the hypocritically-named "Freedom's Watch," who only concern has been the freedom of the rich and powerful to rape the planet.

Ari Fleischer is to Judaism what George W. Bush is to Christianity: a complete repudiation of all that is good and decent about their respective religions.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy...

Anyone else find Ari a little creepy? He lied better than anyone I've ever seen. I think you can trust him about as far as you can throw him.

See ya, Ari. Don't let the door hit your lying ass on the way out.

Your buddy,

Jeff

Different reason

My guess is the fact that Sheldon Adelman lost billions in October and the fact that the Dems look like they might be around for awhile is making him less likely to want to fund the Freedom Watch ads.

Sheldon Adelman probably realizes he has to play with the new team. Kind of like T. Boone Pickens...former hard RW'er who all of a sudden is green.

20th century/Cold War thinking

I understand the concept of "peace through strength," but it's hard to intimidate enemies who are willing and eager to die.

Monday, November 24, 2008 05:05 PM

Poor Ari

It seems like the universe would start contracting in shock and galactic clusters would disintegrate if one word that isn't a bold lie passed Fleischer's lips. Ari Fleischer never told the truth about anything. Hell, if he said it was November, 2008, I would consult at least 10 calendars just to be certain. Baldie is one of those right wing weasels who gets a severe case of diarrhea if he cannot lie constantly. In all his years of being W's mouthpiece, he never uttered the truth even once.

Monday, November 24, 2008 05:11 PM

why

Why do the likes of Ari and Karen Hughes or Karl Rove get any airtime?

Monday, November 24, 2008 05:16 PM

@Janice78

I also understand the concept of "Peach through strength", and I don't think it includes bankrupting the country so badly that we have to beg other countries for money just to keep going.

"Hey Sheik, could ya lend us a trillion so we can invade another one of your neighbors?".

Monday, November 24, 2008 05:16 PM

Talk about not remembering names...

It's Sheldon Adelson, Joan.

Monday, November 24, 2008 05:41 PM

From Joan Walsh

Sheesh, thanks bizzbags. Fixed.

Monday, November 24, 2008 06:02 PM

Correction to losses

Thanks for the corrected spelling. It helped me confirm the losses suffered to Adelson.

As of the end of October, he's lost over 16 billion dollars...that's billion with a "b".

He might not be able to throw as much money to his favorite causes anymore.

Bye bye

To Belly Flop Watch.

Fleischer's flacks get butchered

In the anti-meritocracy that is the GOP, Fleischer is sure to be rewarded with another cushy post, but let's celebrate small victories.

Actually, Ms. Walsh, the GOP simply puts a higher priority on loyalty over results. Therein lies the secret of their perverted notions of merit. Ari Fleischer has loyally served the forces of corruption, mendacity, greed, and misrule without hesitation, so, of course he will continue to prosper within the GOP's ranks, regardless of results.

Obama

would not want you to take pleasure in anyone's failure

Monday, November 24, 2008 09:17 PM

Well, he's a bigger man than me

I look upon Fleischer's big flop

With a deep sense of glee

Monday, November 24, 2008 09:35 PM

yes Ari is a loser

but there's more where he came from

Monday, November 24, 2008 09:49 PM

Yeah

But Ari's a one and only

Until he finds work

He'll be kinda sad 'n lonely

Tuesday, November 25, 2008 06:08 AM

ONE BATTLE AT A TIME

Joan's got it right. Ari's like a vampire. You cannot kill him and his crew will always be with us, like spam. It's his incessant smile/sneer that gives me heartburn every time he hits cable.

The list of richest Americans

Comparing apples to apples, at the far end of the assets bell curve, Adelson managed to slip from 3rd- to 15th-richest person in America.

How all-your-eggs-in-one-basket, or disconnected from income streams and cyclicality, do you need to be to do that?

Oh, and I wouldn't follow Ari Fleischer out of a burning building.

Tuesday, November 25, 2008 06:20 AM

Ari Fleischer is a worm

I hope I never have to hear about him again. What are we at? 56 days and counting? Soon all of these criminals will be relegated to the dustbin of history...just in the nick of time too.

Tuesday, November 25, 2008 02:57 PM

Egregious Ari the fantasy flack.

As Dubya's designated liar, Ari Goebbles told us to "Watch what we do,watch what we say." showing us their deep regard for the Constitution.

Sad to see him down-sized, sort of a retro-brissing, but not to worry, look for him to team up with Dodo Merino on "Double Dittos" on Fox in the New Year, shallow shilling for the snake-handling set, or as the Rabbi averred, "Is there no end to the ..."

Tuesday, November 25, 2008 04:53 PM

A foot note--Thank God

Ari is a nothing.
