Trust Obama on Clinton If he picks her as secretary of state, she's the right choice.

  • Really? No One?

"No one is more prepared to be Secretary of State than Senator Clinton. "

You seem to be precluding one very obvious and, in my mind, a "brilliant" choice.

    Bill Clinton.

Question is, would he take the position?

  • "Haters"

I don't think I hate Hillary, I hate the "Emperor's New Clothes" dissonance. Usually, when discussing a potential Cabinet pick, people reel off a list of education and previous positions that prepared them for the Cabinet seat. With Hillary, no matter what position is discussed, they instead say, she's "clearly qualified" or "no one can question her experience". A Republican even said this week that she can always turn to her husband for foreign policy advice.

There are good women politicians out there who deserve attention and respect for what they've actually done, the experience and achievements in their own right they can rightly claim. The unquestioning support of Hillary just makes it seem as though all women need the bar lowered and the opportunity to claim their husband's achievements as their own.

  • Move over Madeline Uptight

    Here comes a Clinton...

  • My dear Joan, you are correct!

Only Hillary Clinton could stand before the United Nations and say things about Iran that even Colin Powell couldn't be persuaded to say about Iraq.

  • Unity

If Hillary, Colin Powell, Rahm, and Joe are ready to put that unfortunate turn of events in Iraq behind them, and move on to help Barack with our business in Afghanistan and Iran, then who are we not to accept and forget? That’s what unity is all about. Like in a beautiful family.

    Together in church.

  • It's up to Hillary

Since it's already been offered, it's her call, and a tough one at that.

Now that Ted Kennedy has asked her to head the committee on health reform she can put her energy into her true passion. I think in the long run, Hillary's stamp on universal health care would be her greatest contribution.

Although I agree that she'd make a great Sec'y of State, she has already proven to be a great senator. We need great senators.

My vote is for Hillary to stay in the senate, and for Bill Richardson to be our next Sec'y of state. That's also my prediction, and I'm stickin' to it!

  • Clinton Should Not Trust Obama on Clinton

If Hillary does not see this for the okey doke that it is, then she is not as smart as I thought she was. Obama is not flattering her, he is trying to neuter her and her husband. If Sen. Clinton is dumb enough to take this position, she walks right into the viper's pit. She will serve at Obama's pleasure. Should she not kiss his ass enough, the way she did in the primaries, he can kick her to the curb. Obama's real coup will be to end the Clinton Global Initiative. How wonderful would it be if Obama can end all of the good works Bill Clinton has done since his presidential term. Obama and his followers advanced his candidacy on the idea that Bill Clinton was a bad president, did nothing for the country, and was a racist bad person. Through his charitable work, Clinton has done wonders to rehabilitate the image he tarnished when he was embroiled in the Lewinsky scandal. Should Sen. Clinton accept the SoS position, Bill Clinton will have to dismantle his global initiative to avoid conflicts of interest. Obama and his groupies can then trash him all they want and he will have nothing to point to in the way of good works. Obama would love nothing more than to see Bill Clinton fail. He hates him just as much as Bill hates him.

Obama and his groupies have made fools of the Clintons. He got their friends to turn on them in the primaries. Bill Clinton was invited to speak at Coretta Scot King's funeral, Obama wasn't. Pres. Clinton brought the house down because he is in his element in the black church and because the black community loved and respected him. Obama and his followers managed to take that love and turn it into hate. Only a skilled politician can do that. Obama ran on the line that he would bring fresh faces and ideas to Washington and move on from the awful Clinton years. Then he put Bill and Hillary to work and made them campaign for him. Then he hired everyone from the Clinton cabinet and White House staff. Obama can kill them off completely if Sen. Clinton takes these crumbs from his table.

I hope Sen. Clinton smartens up and runs from Obama like the plague. He is a snake in the grass and he is looking to make her even more irrelevant.

Obama supporters, I think you should trust him on Sen. Clinton. He has her and Bill so down and out that they are not only willing to let him shit on their heads, but they will thank him for the hat. He is poised to finish dicking them over. Trust him, he has managed to crush them up to this point and they are about to help him destroy them completely.

  • the wars of the roses are over

Do people think that HRC wouldbe some presidential pretender, and ase SoS, raise an army of PUMAS and march on the White House like Richard Duke of York?

If she becomes SoS, she will work *for* the Obama administration. And if she can't agree with Obama's policies, I'm guessing she'll resign before she rolls over like Colin Powell and carries dirty water to the UN.

I'd be happy to see her as SoS, but I'm wondering if staying in the Senate isn't the better choice for her, especiallyif Kennedy passes her his torch. That's worth more than a committee chair, in my book.

  • secretary of star

I agree. Hilary's smart. A good choice. She'll come through (she has to) and they'll make a brilliant team.

  • An Effort to Control ? WHY ?

The Hilliary for SOS noise is very loud . The MSM and the GOP especially are pushing this move with great effort for reasons that would benefit who ? She was not selected for VP for reasons that have not disappeared ,so why would he change his standards just to have her as SOS and satisfy the MSM ? If he changes the criterion he uses to select his team what will the gang on the right have to say about that over the next 4 years ? 4 years from now wouldn't that be part of the GOP campaign assault weapons ? What would that do to the confidence the electorate has in him keeping to the high standards he has stood by during his campaign for this job ?
