  • Revisionist history of Bill Clinton?

Wow Teresa, I sure do hope you are not a history teacher! You seem to have read and memorized a Clinton handbook on the reasons millions of Americans detest Bill and how it has spilled over onto his wife...a willing participant, if not architect, of many of their adventures with the American political landscape... BILL is the main reason she lost the primary...

The only person actually trying to "destoy" Bill Clinton was BILL CLINTON!

The eventual disgust he engendered from his own actions, his own choices, clearly paved the way for George W. Bush...Billy Boy's longest lasting legacy.....

  • does everything hillary have to be about gender issues around here?

why are most people here assuming that people opposed to h. clinton as secretary of state are doing so out of some sort of mysogynist reason? can you please get over that attack?

also plenty of people here who can only see this as a gender issue are acting like she would be the first female secretary of state when we actually have a female secretary of state right now and we did so before not 8 years ago.

just because a woman is involved it doesn't have to be argued in gender issues.

  • Every old Dynasty

    Needs its Joan Collins...

  • @ Scared grandma: What part of bipartisanship did you not understand from Barack Obama's message?

He never ran as a leftist. That was Kucinich.

I don't see anyone here lamenting that we didn't elect Kucinich. He was the true leftist choice. He ran as a leftist.

Now some of you are whining like babies because you actually got what was advertised.

When did Obama say he would appoint only leftists to his administration? He never did. Many of us who supported Clinton argued that Obama and Clinton were not that war apart. What did you cite as evidence that they were? Usually one speech made by Obama before he ever attained the senate. It was the "experience" you most wanted to voted for him on.

Well, now he has the good sense to seek out experienced people for his administration. Where did you think he was going to get them from? The Daily Kos?

His is only the second Democratic administration since Clinton's. He wants people experience in administering a presidency. He really has to seek these experienced people from people who have worked for the Clinton Administration. Axelrod worked for the Clinton Administration. So did our new attorney general. I don't hear any of you squealing about them.

I am damned glad he is smart enough not to choose a bunch of neophytes. Administration is not policy.

    Obama will steer the policy.

Or do you think he is not up to the task of leadership for which you elected him?

  • I just gotta say

When it relates to the future

    Of this whole country

I just gotta look well beyond the politics

    Of gender and identity..

  • @AKA Smith

You got my first response to you, and you responded to me, but my afterward post to you was an OOPS...because I didn't realize that, with the term you coined, you were referring to a specific poster...i.e., nancianne. Just so you know. I understand what you're saying.

  • @ aka

I agree with pretty much every word (though I don't think the antagonism is productive)!

Since you and I have nearly come to blows on more than one occasion, I just had to register my agreement on this.

    Very well said.

(Maybe you're not such a bad gal after all. :)

  • "Bipartisanship"

I do not consider Bill and Hillary Clinton on every front page, every news station, every blog site, for a week straight as "Bipartisanship"...I call that manipulation of the press and all media in general...I call that typical of them...I call that attention seeking...I call that TIRESOME..

Obama promised to end "politics as usual"...he was not talking about beliefs nor was he was refering to different philosophies...he was talking about METHODS! Those of us who have supported Obama for President for these last two LONG years knew that...

Oh, by the way, the Clintons knew that too...they will not be easily pushed aside or put into Presidential history, where they now rightfully belong...Bill is out today, even as we write back and forth here, telling everyone who will listen, that he will do everything "required " or "asked of him" so that his wife can become the Secty.of State...With Billy Boy it is ALWAYS about him...and forever will be, world without end, amen!

  • @ weeping for brunnhilde

Not a bad gal. You mistake me. I am pure evil. ;-)

Antagonizing Nancianne is worth every word to me. I hope steam is coming out of her ears.

  • @ pure evil

    :)

Actually, I wasn't referring to that exchange. I should have specificed: I was referring to the business about Obama not being Denis Kucinich and so forth.

As to the other stuff, I think I take your general point, but I have no dog in that fight, as the kids say these days.

  • You have no evidence that the Clintons are manipulating the press. None at all.

The only thing that counts here is statements by the Clinton herself and officially from the Obama campaign. There have been few official statements.

What on earth is wrong with Bill Clinton saying that he is doing everything possible to accomodate the requests of the Obama campaign? Apparently, Clinton's lawyers and Obama's lawyers have worked together to examine CGI.

Do you think they would be going to all this trouble for the hell of it?

Oh, I know you would be soooo much happier if Bill Clinton indicated in some way that he is being obstructive. He apparently is not. He is helping his wife become Secretary of State by opening his dealings to the Obama team. It is the least he can do for his wife.

You want to have it both ways. You want to say that by being accomodating that he is somehow being manipulative. He is merely saying that he does not want to be the source of obstacle.

I should think you would be praising him.

  • @ Scared grandma

I should have made clear that my 4:38 post is for you.

  • Scared granny

I'm detected that old Clinton fatigue

    To the twelth power

    It just increases and increaces

With each passing minute and hour..

    I feel ya.
