Bipartisanship is a false aspiration. It is the enemy of truth and, ultimately, justice. It fosters false equivalencies, as if to suggest that rabid vitriol deserves an equal footing alongside reasoned discourse. Bipartisanship is the enemy of debate, of democracy. It denies leadership in favor of group think. If a "team of rivals," a phrase I am already profoundly sick of, produces no answers, no solutions, no progress, then what, in the end, is its value? And what does such a team reveal of its leader?
