It's not that I expect all Black people to feel the same, but I do expect that the basis for however they feel makes sense. It's well-established that you have a beef with Obama. That's on you, but that long lamentation of how Obama's victory means nothing for African-Americans cuz he isnt descended from Yazoo, Mississippi betrayed, in my view, a complete ignorance of slavery's legacy, and, however you feel, that is what I had a big problem with. Does that mean Mandela's freedom and ascendency to the Presidency of South Africa was insignificant for the folk here? Does that mean that people such as Sidney Poitier and Harry Belafonte aren't legitimate spokespeople for Black causes?
I dont expect Obama to be perfect, but you seem predisposed to assign a negative motive to every action he even thinks about taking. And then you lament in writing that you feel estranged from all your friends and family. Maybe if you'd get over yourself, that'd serve to ease your sense of estrangement.
