In my dreams!
I see "Condi" Rice as an opportunist. She is an adult and supposedly an intelligent person. Hold her responsible for her words and actions. The same for General Powell who took great pains to prove that Iraq had WMD's when he went to the U.N. for Dubyah before we attacked Iraq. Both are Uncle Tom's in my book. The only hero that day was the French Ambassador who repudiated Powell's "evidence."
Barak Obama represents Americans who want change. I don't think he meant small incremental baby-step change. I think he meant Large Sweeping Change which is what most Americans voted for. As repugnant as it is Obama should work with that other political party from the south if and only if he has to (yuck). Otherwise, Obama should follow his moral compass: “damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead," (let get going). Obama is our president but he also called himself a “conduit” for American aspirations. He said it himself in his convention acceptance speech. He said that Americans were calling for change and that he was listening. The agenda for change is our baby. Obama is immune from attack. He is just the messenger. Attack the Americans who elected him if you do not like the change. That would include me.
I guess you weren't watching the McCain speech when he mentioned Obama's name and the entire crowd started booing and yelling insults until her had to go out of his way to calm down the "very multi-ethnic crowd" that were the only people lucky enough to get an invite. (Perhaps he was ready for a loss and was afraid if he let the real public in there they may start yelling out "kill the new arab president!" and he'd be unable to control them?) Then when Obama spoke, while there were the beginnings of some noise @ McCain's name, As soon as Obama spoke of bringing the nation together and congratulting McCain on a hard fought campaign, as well as giving him credit for being a great American, this audience actually gave McCain a little cheer. And Obama ensured the "other side" that hewould hear these people, "especially when they disagree with him." Every article I read on Mcain stated that he begins to shake and lather and put hs fingers in his ears when anyone disagrees with him. They are automatically wrong, unworthy of a listen.
Your complaints and continuation of jettisoning truths for "color commentary" a few shades off of black and white, only shows how disingenuous you are about being gracious in defeat.
Whats wrong with sending Bachman onto a TV show to answer questions? Are you so worried she may not answer, or may not know how to answer them in an intelligent manner? Anyone who does not want to answer a question, does not have to do so. Better to say, "I refuse answer" than to beat around the bush with obsequious humdrum.
I'm glad Obama chose to deny public financing. We need a president who can asses the situation NOW, at this moment and roll with the punches when a better opportunity presents itself than to stick with a choice "just because". I bought an umbrella to work yesterday because they forecasted rain. But when I saw the sun coming out after lunch, I left it in the truck, because I saw that my impetus to need my umbrella had CHANGED! So I acknowledged the changing conditions.
And how does Obama's change on accepting public funds differ from or compare to McCain claiming he was NOT going to run a negative campaign full of lies and/or innuendo because he so disliked it used against him, and then he did it anyway? (Can you tell us how his campaign ads were "honorable" on any level? instead of telling us about all the mavercky changes he was planning to do, he used his middle name (Ooh, "Hussein" scary! But no, I really DO believe in freedom of religion.)Obama didn't get negative until arrows were slung his way, and then mostly in defense. This shows a man who sticks to his moral compass, something the republicans seem unable to do. Sure they talk about "living christian values", but all I can think of when I saw some of the transparent vitriolic lies or exaggerations put forth in the ads and robo calls is,..."What would Jesus do?" He certain wouldn't make robocalls calling his opponent a socialist who is going to raise your taxes and blow up the government buildings because he was in the same room with a guy who did some of these things, tangentially, 40 f'ing years ago!)
Why don't you go to the Loser suite in Arizona and get back to drinking the koolaide? instead of patting yourself on the bak for your continued put down of the winning, accepting side, with your sour grapes and classy self-patting on the back for all your non existent class? Or better yet, expend this energy in joining us in trying to rebuild instead of continuing to divide.
The GOP has alot of soul searching to do. The thorough rejection of McCain and Palin and their divisive, racist campaign should make the party think about whether they want to become an ever marginalized bunch of theocratic bigots or figure out a strategy and message that makes sense to the new America.
Their race-baiting scare tactics didn't work with Jewish voters in Florida, Latinos in Colorado, Asian Americans or Blacks in any state, and they lost all the educated White folks.
After the "regular" people in Ohio and Virginia came on board the Obama train, all the GOP had left were a few delusional fundamentalists and corporate pirates.
Time to get a new game.
...for a while, until we began working with President Barack Obama to fix this country and our beloved Constituion which has been trashed so badly during the past four years.
VIVA PRESIDENT OBAMA!
