A pit bull in lipstick?

A snarling Sarah Palin savages Barack Obama while her defenders deride sexism and "liberal media" bias.

The letters thread is now closed.

She won't get any new votes

I posted this elsewhere, but she fired up her base...so what? She won't get any new votes when the following facts are made clear

And? She's not getting any new votes. Once it's made clear that she

1) tried to ban books (Ms. Palin, how to you reconcile your effort to ban books and the First amendment?)

2) Is ALL about getting pork, and leaving her small town of less than 10,000, what is it, 20 or so million in debt?

3) Her husband very recently belonged to the secessionist Alaska Independence Party (that's one step above treason and FAR worse than not wearing a flag lapel pin. What do you think they would have said about Michelle Obama if she belonged to a secessionist party??)

4) lied when she said she did not support the bridge to nowhere when she did

5) exteme on her abortion views - no exceptions (sorry parents, but your raped 12 year old HAS to have that baby. or sorry parents, even though your 12 year old might die because of this pregnancy, too bad)

6) made a line item veto to slash funding for a state program benefiting teen mothers in need of a place to live.

7) wants creationism taught in schools

8) supports strictly abstinence only education - which clearly doesn't work

She may have fired up her base, but she hasn't gotten any new voted. The people in the middle won't vote for her.

Apparently it's okay for GOP Pundits

To have one message for Scranton and another for San Francisco.

I wonder if Sarah Palin could find Scranton on a map. Shall we give her five minutes to look?

@marko1965 on anger

"It must take so much energy to maintain that level of anger."

Actually, anger is highly energizing. It's also addictive. Once you start getting your rage on, you want to do it all the time. It's much like nicotine.

The right wing realized the potential of rage many decades ago, and they've been riding it to victory ever since.

@ Svutlov

I have already posted on Palin several times over the last couple of days. Real feminists will recognize that Palin is no feminist.

Now if the same guys who did a job on Clinton want to have at Palin, I guess they can go ahead. Let's let them, shall we? If they do, then my guess is that the Republicans will be able to get some traction out of their charge of sexism. The Obama attack boyz go about their work so crudely.

I do have some thoughts on what wise people should say. Rather than saying Palin is a bad mother, it would be better to point out that her husband should be fully capable of the parenting role. For instance, let him hold the baby and we can all hold our breath that he doesn't drop it.

(What a convenient infant that is. There is something most peculiar about the whole baby thing. Putting my tinfoil hat on ... oh, nevermind.)

(For the record, I never thought Bristol was the baby's mother.)

I won't be defending Palin as I did Clinton. Neither will I be attacking Palin much because I don't have much interest in the race anymore as far as the two major parties go. Moreover, your suggestion that only women should fight women is a bit ... odd. Take that far enough and it could seem sexist.

Let's get this staight. Palin's Democratic counterpart is Biden. McCain's Democratic counterpart is Obama. As long as Obama remembers that he is not the VP candidate and that Palin is not the candidate for POTUS, he will do fine. It is any equivalency or comparison to Palin that Obama has to watch out for.

It's so funny

I guess Giuliani and Palin think that being a faith-based community organizer in an area hit by factory shutdowns is pretty funny stuff. How quaint that Obama spent years helping people get educations and jobs. So much for Republican values. They tried to spin this from the experience angle but if the Democrats play it right it could backfire.

When's Palin's kid getting shipped out to Iraq?

I'd help him along with his arabic (which you can be real goddamn sure he'll need to know) but the last time I tried to teach a redneck a few words of lugha arabi, the only phrase they could fucking remember was "kusumak."

Alikha leekh ya walad!

mission accomplished, gov. Palin

Your condescending, sneering and ... what's that expression ... ear-piercingly _shrill_ hate fest sprinkled with just enough self-satisfaction to keep it interesting has made this one Democrat donate again to the Obama campaign - twice in a week.

Please, keep it up - you have no idea how many people are happily parting with their hard-earned money to keep you away from any position of real power.

Please please please

Make sure to point out that Sarah Palin is a bold faced liar, and do so in every single thing you write until November. It is unacceptable to let this kind of shit go by.

Sarah Palin is a liar. Never stop saying it.

@ AKA Smith

Have you changed your mind? I find myself in total agreement about Obama's not responding and that's what Biden is for. I'm actually hopeful that you and I are in the same line for once, neither are Obama supporters but neither dare to see McCain elected...

@Xrandadu Hutman

No, if you were a Repugnican, you would not be hiding your face in shame.

(or at least I didn't see any of them doing that, no matter how appropriate).

what this election cycle has taught me

@aka Smith

"Real feminists will recognize that Palin is no feminist."

reply: what this election cycle has taught me is that real feminsits need to get REAL.

The left attacked HRC and now are attacking Palin. policy is no prohibition to sexism in seeking to prevent the first female POTUS.

i now want to see a female veep--red, blue or Green. what will change revulsion in the USA to female in top slots is seeing one in the WH or the VEEP house. policy smolicy... 4 years of McCAin and perhaps we might see HRC vs.a Palin. not that!! I'd really like, better than any policy tug of wars thatwill continue no matter WHAT.

female in power ISthe goal.
