A pit bull in lipstick?

A snarling Sarah Palin savages Barack Obama while her defenders deride sexism and "liberal media" bias.

The only different between Sarah Palin and a pit bull is the lipstick?

Hardly. Pit bulls have less political baggage, and not one has an unwed pregnant teenage daughter.

@Rockytonker "All the Good Christian Folks"

I have to say I agree, Rocky, although I misunderstood your letter the first time or two I read it. When given the chance to choose the low road or any other road, the Rove Republicans sure do seem to spend a lot of time down there traveling in the valley.

Sometimes our vocal Christian fellow citizens seem like a mean bunch for folks who claim to be on a first-name basis with Jesus.

But I have to admit that some of the nicks and small cuts we got from the Palin look-alikes in high school (maybe junior high, too) still sting once in a while. So for me, I'll take that dark-complected fella who tries to give an thoughtful, honest answer to a fair question. I've seen about enough mean people in high places (and low) for one life time. RB

Sarah Palin: An appreciation

In her national debut on Friday, Republican Vice-Presidential nominee Sarah Palin remarked that she was thinking of "two other women who came before me in national elections," Geraldine Ferraro and Sen. Hillary Clinton.

Palin went on to say, "It was rightly noted in Denver this week that Hillary left 18 million cracks in the highest, hardest glass ceiling in America. But it turns out the women of America aren't finished yet, and we can shatter that glass ceiling once and for all. "

The women of America aren't finished yet? Agreed.

But it's no coincidence that the two women Palin graciously gave a shout out to are women of the Democratic party. Because if it had been left to the Republican's vision for American women, Palin would still be an unknown hockey mom in a state with only one area code.

Let's review:

Equal pay for equal work? Thank the Democrats.

After-school programs? Thank the Democrats.

Have a special needs child who is going to require special schooling and assistance programs? Thank the Democrats.

Anyone in her family get Medicare or receive Social Security checks? Thank the Democrats.

Does her husband have a well-paid union job? Thank the Democrats for that, too.

Palin is right to think of Democratic women during her moment in the limelight. This feisty vision of Republican womanhood is the product of social advances won for her by real trailblazers.

Sarah -- in appreciation, thank the Democrats.

Great Work Vice President Sarah Palin!

To those of you who feel the need to keep stating that Sarah Palin is just someone with little experience, please educate yourself.

Sarah Palin is the GOVERNOR OF ALASKA with over an 85% approval rating.

I have read many of these posts, which provide that Sarah Palin has little or no experience. Well, to state that is ignorant and people should educate themselves before writing such words.

Below I have provided you with the positions held by Obama and Sarah Palin. You decide who has the experience.

My vote is for Sarah Palin. She is the true middle class and knows what it is like to work every day, raise a family, help run a business and pay the bills.

Community Organizer

DEFINITION OF COMMUNITY ORGANIZING: Community Organizing is a process by which people are brought together to act in common self-interest. While organizing describes any activity involving people interacting with one another in a formal manner, much community organizing is in the pursuit of a common agenda.

This is the only noted or stated experience Obama has provided for his democratic nomination.

Sarah Palin also has been in community organization by representing the PTA.

Mayor

DEFINITION OF MAYOR: A mayor is the highest ranking officer in a municipal government. The mayor is an elected politician who serves as chief executive and/or ceremonial official of many types of municipalities.

Sarah Palin has been Mayor and therefore has this EXECUTIVE experience.

Obama has never served in an elected office with executive requirements.

Governor:

Governor refers to the chief executive of each state, not directly subordinate to the federal authorities, but the political and ceremonial head of the state.

The governor thus heads the executive branch in each state and, depending on the state, may have considerable control over government budgeting, the power of appointment of many officials (including many judges) and a considerable role in legislation. The governor may also have additional roles, such as that of Commander-in-Chief of the state's National Guard, and in many states the governor has partial or absolute power to commute or pardon a criminal sentence.

In all states, the governor is directly ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE.

Sarah Palin is the Governor of ALASKA and therefore has EXECUTIVE experience.

Obama has never served in an elected office with executive requirements.

Senator

Obama was elected a junior senator from Illinois in 2005.

Obama has been campaigning for the Presidency since 2006 and announced his candidacy in February 2007, which means he was only actively a Senator for one year.

There is no executive experience needed for this job. It is a job that requires you to read a bill and to vote on that bill. The voting options for a U.S. Senator are Yes, No and Present. Obama pressed that PRESENT button more often than others.

I am a democrat who is finished with ignorant people. My vote is for John McCain and Sarah Palin.

the young `un

she stood out among all the tired old men as they each came to the podium. each one so old and cranky that i only watched in spurts. thank god for bravo runway yesterday. frankly her being there and the tearful enthusaism that greeted her just showed up what was wrong with the whole party. no bush there, noone from the party at all, no rice, etc. what kind of party is this? the old men and their chick. kind of like the tally ho clubs around the country. it is both laughable and infuriating. for me, i am through with any thoughts of mccain. gone. the republicans are ridiculous this time around. they wont win. that is a given.
