A pit bull in lipstick?

A snarling Sarah Palin savages Barack Obama while her defenders deride sexism and "liberal media" bias.

A woman with guts

If ever the American media needed being taken on it is now. I have never read such biased reporting as there was in the Clinton and Obama contest. They said almost nothing good about Clinton and it was almost slavish hero worship of Obama. Palin sounds as tough as our English Prime Minister Maggie Thatcher was and what a gutsy Prime Minister she was. Now we have a load of men who should be wearing tutus as politicians.

One stupid pick ,,,it's all over for Mc Cain

You would think they could find anyone better but I guess there are not that many women willing to lay down for the far right. All I can say is “Mind boggling” If this ticket win's I loose all faith in our government and the people of this country. Impressively stupid pick. She neither is lovable nor electable. However, she does seem to hold the same Bush admin, ethics. See trooper gate and all the rest of her baggage.

I have seen enough, I would elect a hard line Iranian cleric over this bunch. At least he would have some morality and ethics.

Has this country fallen that far in eight year? This is beyond sad. I wonder if we will ever see the America, we knew again if this bunch wins. I do not wonder I know the Republican Party must die to be reborn without the far right and the religious extremists. Your religion is there to dictate morals the government is there to run a country. They don’t mix and should not see the constitution as if that means anything anymore. Welcome to fear and loathing based politics and goverment. The left is now middle and the right is so far right. American should wake up. Or? is it all just a show anymore to make us believe we are the people we once were eight years ago. How far is it to the bottom and how far and long will the trip back be? Maybe the deficit is an indication. Fiscal responsible republicans?

@uncle fester- gas and oil

Yep, that's exactly what I'm saying. But I look at McCain and ask myself, which was more tortuous for him? The Hanoi Hilton or the last eight years of watching Bush/Cheney?

Make no mistake about it. McCain is a Republican and his political viewpoint is very different from ours. But I don't think he is reckless. I think he has been forced to play the game so that he would get his crack at being president. Deep down, he's not a criminal and I suspect he's fairly stubborn when it comes to ethics. He has a deep and abiding affinity with the military. I don't think it is his intention to get us in over our heads. Palin just has some hidden expertise that the Democrats overlooked.

No, this is not an endorsement. I'm just trying to look at the race with the proper perspective. McCain is not a monster. Obama isn't either. But the way the DNC has played this race makes me more distrustful of Obama than I am of McCain at this point and that is deeply troubling to me.

A pitbull in lipstick

Palin smeared her lipstick and didn't realize she has to go to the lady's room.

Barack says hands off her family, a class act, and she smears her lipstick.

A Pit Bull For VP

As clever a pack of lies as could be created by the most accomplished liars on the face of the earth. One slip up though when she repeated the tired old line about Obama's ability to communicate through speeches but lacking in substance. Her speech writers evidently missed that part of Obama's speech where he spelled out the salient points of his program.

Just what the country and the world needs: a bellicose old man and a pit bull.

Pit Bull with lipstick? Don't unsult a good breed of Dogs.

First off, Pit bulls aren't mean. And probably would roll over and play dead if they had to deal with this woman.

Oh ya, this is what we need, a pissy, self pretentious bible beater backing a misogynist war hungry lying white feathered troll.

I love how they lash out at the "liberal" media. Well it was the "liberal" media who black balled Ron Paul, in order to help their lackeys in the running.

This woman is a maniac, and more like a feral wiener dog on a short leash.

I don't want Obama or McCain, they are both douches, but heavens and grasses help us if this woman is the VP. I'd take the blood soaked Cheney over this racket.

13 years as a Mayor...in a town in the middle of NOWHERE does not suit the demanding terms for a person to sit shotgun for the next leader of what was a free country.

wake up people, we are slipping down a slope of deep trouble and angled agendas. Quit being spoon fed, and eat the knowledge for yourself.

Palin referred to herself as a female dog?

Oh no, she didn't! However, with her macho credentials, she might wear it as a badge of honor. To understand Republicans, you have to think counter intuitively, because in their world, it's the only way to make sense out of nonsense. So if she's calling herself a bitch, is it ok for the rest of us to refer to her that way? IF the metaphor fits...

The Right Wing's exaggerated giddiness over Palin's nomination reminds me of when someone tells a joke that isn't funny, but they laugh hysterically anyway. Sounds phony. I'd say the enthusiasm of the conservatives is in direct proportion to their desperation.

Palin's speech was the usual conservative no substance all trash talk emotional lie filled fare. Her cruelty and aggression probably have an origin in her love of the kill. She promotes aerial shooting of wolves and bears which eliminates competition for hunters who can't compete without an unfair advantage. Yes, she's the poster child for Republican tactics.

Interesting scenario: what if she gets pregnant while she's in the White House? Four years is a long time, and she obviously likes big families. Could a Commander and Chief function with all those screaming babies needing their mama? Just a thought.
