A pit bull in lipstick?

A snarling Sarah Palin savages Barack Obama while her defenders deride sexism and "liberal media" bias.

Three Nights

and I don't think I've heard the middle class or poor mentioned once; or seen a person of color speak - luckily I've missed alot so maybe someone at the RNC has addressed issues that actually affected people and not just told the same stories about McCain as as POW and mistruths about Obama's plans to cut taxes. But mostly Palin's speech made me sad - that people were actually cheering someone who puts down community work - if only all Ivy League students would work in the inner city and help those less fortunate. Obama worked with a church based group - which you'd think the Republicans would celebrate.

It's obvious Palin was speaking words not her own - the next few weeks we'll learn more about who she really is and how she answers the questions she and McCain currently avoid answering by creating an alleged left wing conspiracy (the only people I've heard talk about whether Palin can be VP and have kids are people complaining about "they" and pundits). However there are plenty of reports and facts regarding Palin's embracing federal funds and earmarks and supporting the Bridge to Nowhere so I'l be interested to hear her response to that - as well as whether she regrets cutting funds to help unwed mothers in her own state. And to all elected officials I hope someone will ask if he or she is against universal healthcare then is her or she willing to give up their own insurance paid for by our tax dollars. And I think McCain - with his millions of dollars - and Palin - with her huge family - should be first in line to say yes to that. . because they are, after all reformers.

redkimba

Palin gave a glimpse of her foreign policy creds last night when she talked about the Caucas Mountain countries.

The what countries? Do you have any idea what you're talking about, or are you just doing a hack job of retyping today's RNC talking points?

Palin was reading a speech prepared for her. No evidence of 'creds' there.

The BIG, Bad (now Left Wing) MSM

Because the charge of "Sexism" is being hurled at any of the MSM's 'vetting' of this candidate and Senator McCain's 'gut' choice of her, their campaign will use this 'bias' as the excuse to hide VP nominee, Palin, from the 'hardball' questioning until after the election.

The 'real' leaders of the Republican Party are more machiavellian -duplicitous in their treatment of America and Americans than Niccolo di Bernardo dei Machiavelli himself.

Another Rovian Playbook tactic, turn your candidate's weakness on Domestic and Foreign policy, into a plus by 'demonizing' the big, bad Media, so Sarah won't have to "Face the Nation" because she is just "People", cannot say she is one of "US" (Weekly) though, because they were mean to McCain's "gut" pick, Sarah Palin, too.

We'll soon see what truth there is in the National Enquirer though.......It may be the 'coldest' case of "Northern Exposure" yet.

I had a dream last night.....

I went to bed soon after Ms. Palin's speech; Probably too soon. My dream began like it was to be about being in a hurricane. Probably from the overdose of weather related news I received recently. It soon dissolved into a Wizard of Oz parable (this sure doesn't look like Kansas Toto) with flying monkeys and a man looking strangely like Sen, McCain lurking behind a curtain. What really turned the dream into a nightmare however was the appearance of Gov. Palin in the role of Wicked Witch of the West. All she lacked were the ruby slippers. Please help me to send this image back to Alaska in November. Vote!

Glorifying Child Abuse

Hypocrisy, outrageous ideology and offensive viewpoints, entitlement, invincibility, God complexes--without going so far as to say those attributes are par for the course, they often go hand in hand with political ambition. Disappointing, yes; surprising, no.

What remains for me most horrifying about Palin is that she would make the choice to expose her own daughter, unquestionably at an emotionally vulnerable moment in her life, to national, even international scrutiny. And McCain wants to say he was a knowing, willing partner in this?

Anyone checking out Cindy McCain?

I mean, forget about Palin...

What's with this "old bimbo" look of Cindy McCain's? Last night, in that lime green dress, she looked primed to get hammered and hit on some teenager at a wedding.

Is it just me, or is she just a cigarette and martini glass away from being Patsy from AB FAB?

Selfish Shallow and Shrill

What a terrible show of naked ambition. She does not have a 'normal' family and ought to be taking care of Trig when he is an infant. He's got enough problems without an absentee superstar mom.

How selfish and shallow of her to persist in the quest for power at the expense of her family, which is her primary responsibility.

She sounds like Roseanne, but Roseanne was a better mom!

Watch out

Palin's speech gives us the same tactics that have worked so well for the GOP in the past. They are going to shake up Washington? Never mind that the GOP has had the Presidency, the Congress and even the Supreme Court for years. Still, they are victims of the liberal elite, of the Washington insiders. The Dems will raise your taxes and gas prices. The GOP mantra is borrow and spend so much that deficits are destroying the economy and devaluing the dollar. There are so many lies perpetuated by the GOP that if even half of them make it into the publics perception then they have won.

McCain is being painted as a Veteran, who heroically defended our country. Does anyone remember what the GOP did to the last decorated Veteran who ran for President. What a bunch of hypocrites. The nerve of these people is too much to even try and comprehend. After last night, I am very scared. They will do whatever it takes to stay in power.

@Godot

Pay attention! She was signalling to Biden et al that she was prepped and waiting to go mano-a-mano. The Black Sea-Caucas region of the world is where the real fight for gas and oil is going to be fought. And it doesn't matter if she was reading a prepared speech. She's the governor of fricking ALASKA! Her whole life revolves around the logistics and strategies of pipelines and international borders. Think! Haven't you been paying any attention to the petro politics in this area of the world?

Biden's foreign policy experience my ass. The Democrats have grossly underestimated her, as have you. She's ready, baby, and the Dems are like sitting ducks.

This is what you get when the powers that be refuse to look past the color of the skin to get to the content of the character.
