It's Obama time!

Hillary Clinton released her delegates, and the party is coming together behind its new leader. Reasons to celebrate and reasons to worry in Denver.

The letters thread is now closed.

Why take Edwards off the list. Or cancell his speach?

Sure he was a hair from being the Country's VP. then a fav for this years election. But he Lied not only to his wife and children but all of us as well. Now we are to reward him?

Why would the Democrats let some cheating, Lying, slime ball speak to the DNC elite and faithful?

BTW, When does Bill Clinton speak?

You think Half-Brother George is a Problem . . .

Wait until Fox News and Queenie B get a hold of this:

To people who say get over it!

I wonder are you the same Democrats/Repulicans who voted for Bush's Second Term. Your new sense of urgency amazes me. I voted for John Kerry and I really wanted him to win. I felt urgency then but you idiots that did not help him get elected are now talking about how we can't afford 4 more years. Well guess what you all got what you deserved. Now this election season you all are up in arms about Obama and his unrealistic message of change and you expect people who are realist like my self to set off the fire works. Please! As for Hillary, her supporters are beyond her loosing, and more concerned with the cover up that allowed Obama to win in the first place. It was a setup from the beginning. The DNC and the Media knew about Rev. Wright, but they said nothing. They were hoping that it would not get out. Why because they would rather have a Black man or anyone other than a woman in office. This shows the level of sexism that exitst in this country and in the Democratic party. So, Hillary will give a speech that she probably does not want to give because this mail dominated county/party is holding the political GUN to her head which make me mad as hell. If I was Hillary, I would say FUCK all of you who helped to make Obama the nominee, and win it on your own.

Biden on drug laws

You're not happy with Biden's position on "hard-line drug laws"? Have you read the Biden Bill? It is against mandatory minimum sentencing, and notes that according to current scientific thinking, crack and powder cocaine have identical effects on the body. Some twenty years ago, Biden took the opposite position, but now he says (in print) that he feels remorse. More than any other legislator, he is the one who can help change the deplorable situation where per capita more people are in prison in America- mostly for drug offences - than in any other country. Most of those people who got five years for a first year crack offence are young African American men. So there are very good reasons to support Biden.

Scranton?

Little off topic...but after watching Ed Rendell do a few interviews and listening to Chris Matthews go in to spit-flying frenzies over this place...what is the deal with Scranton, Pennsylvania?

Do the rivers flow chocolate there or what? Is the grass greener? The skies bluer? Are there lollipop trees?

What is it?

It seems as though this place holds the key to the election and I was just wondering why?

@ Klytus -- No, seriously, about George Obama at the convention.

I heard the convention planned on doing a live remote from George Obama's hut in Kenya. Apparently, George heard about what Obama said at Saddleback. You know, that -- “Americans’ greatest moral failure in my lifetime has been that we still don’t abide by that basic precept in Matthew that whatever you do for the least of my brothers, you do for me.” Naturally, George (being Barack's brother) wanted to ask him if he could spot him some "walking around money" -- you know -- out of the four million dollars Barack made on his book last year. I'm sure Obama will come to his own brother's aid, don't you think? Otherwise, all this helping the poor rhetoric would just make Obama a phoney. And Obama couldn't possibly be a phony, could he?

Just wondering.

Watch closely

...not that it matters.

I said this before. I am going senile like McCain so I repeat myself, by crackie.

I'm not voting.

Cast my first vote for John Vliet Lindsay in 1965. A charmboy who as Mayor of New York was an anti-labor scumbag. I know that because I went to work for the City.

Last vote was for that pussy John Kerry who would not fight back and get into the dirt with Bush. If I'd been Kerry I would have unearthed the alcoholism, the drug use, the business incompetence, the Daddy's Influence. No, Kerry took the high road to nowhere.

I miss RFK, I miss Gene McCarthy, I miss even Barry Goldwater, am an who did not have shit for brains. There's nobody left worth even hating. So I'm done. The best we can do now is a "community organizer" with PC skin color and oppose him to a man who left a lot more than five years of his life in the tiger cages. So I am not voting. I am SO done with this crap.

I didn't know that Clinton supporters were being held captive!

Released? No candidate "owns" or "holds" their supporters and they can't trade or release them to anyone else - they are not "theirs" to trade. We are free to make decisions and to change our minds!

I realize that our language has its limitations but aren't we all tired of meaningless rhetoric? "Release," "Playing the X (you name it) card," "commander in chief," "experienced," "the x vote (you name it)", etc., etc.

And I also realize that truth has been reduced to sound bites and text messages - but wouldn't it be wonderful if we stopped sloganizing everything and everone?
