Apparently not.
Ho-Hum.
Tuning out.
You seem concerned about Obama.
No one.
What makes you believe Hillary wouldn't make a VP spot all about Hillary?
Bill would be part of the deal, explicitly or implicitly, and that is the last thing the campaign needs. He didn't do Hillary any good. What makes anyone think he would do Obama any better? The guy needs to stay retired.
Joan is stuck on Hillary Clinton. I think that Kathleen Sebelius would be a better candidate. I doubt that she'd bring Kansas' three votes into the Obama fold but I'd suggest that she would bring women nationwide to Obama -- possibly excluding those for whom Hillary Clinton is the only acceptable candidate. Among other reasons to support her is that she'd be fully qualified to run for president, and win, herself after eight years of working in the Obama Administration.
I'd also suggest that it seems unfortunate that Joan's article dis-es the men who are apparently on Obama's short list but Sebelius is an after thought who is hardly mentioned. I think a little broader view is warranted.
I have personally known Tim Kaine and believe one day he may make a superb national leader; he has the integrity, intelligence and sentiments for one. However, he is a new pup, even on the state scene. As anyone knows who saw his speech on behalf of the democrats one recent January in response to W's State of the Union (which was immediate fodder for the Daily Show), he is clearly not yet ready for prime time. Obama needs someone with more experience, duh, on the national if not international level like Nunn (don't know about Bayh). Kaine has LESS. If Obama were to choose Kaine, therefore, I would have to rethink my whole opinion of Obama's own potential.

Do better than these two...Joe Biden for one...Sen Webb for another, but Webb says "No"...Sen Jack Reed is a peach, but he's not nearly the "attack dog" that's needed...if BOH thinks he needs the Indiana electoral votes, he might spring for Evan Bayh and help himself with the Hillary crowd...Hagel is likely the new secretary of defense if BOH is successful...Kaine doesn't really bring much to the table IMHO...my money's on Biden...
Richardson will energize Hispanic voters and help nail down the west. He has serious foreign policy cred and, most important, is not a member of the corrupt senate.
The "they ain't white enough" argument is lame. If its true then Obama doesn't have a chance to begin with.
Is that Obama give a blanket pardon for all crimes committed against the United States by Republicans and Democrats in Congress and the Bush administration. Once that is done, and facism is firmly entrenched, the revolution can begin. Only then can America be restored to the rule of law. Besides, Hillary is married to Bill. Get a divorce, Hill, then we'll talk.
Joan - I think there's lots of speculation out there and from what I've seen Obama is playing his cards pretty close to his chest. As exciting as it might be to have Clinton on the ticket it's not that surprising Obama might pass her over. Like it or not Bill is an issue. His purported hostility during and after the primary would be hard to overcome - not to mention his questionable business dealings and alliances post-Presidency. Plus Hillary has apparently reserved the domain for Hillary 2012 - which I would think give Obama pause that Hillary might challenge him in 4 years. It make sense for both Obama and McCain to choose governors to help deliver states they need. Bayh was a purported VP choice for Clinton as well so I'm surprised your not more enthusiastic about him. And of course we're assuming Hillary even wants to be VP -- the next President is jumping into a quagmire and although none of the problems will be the fault of the nominee - blame will carry over regardless. Hillary may well indeed want to run again -- and couldn't do so if VP. I know it's hard for Clinton supporters to believe but the election is no longer about her. WHile it has been exciting to see Obama and Clinton together I think any hope of a ticket were quashed with the negativity displayed during the campaign and afterwards. As it stands McCain is already using some of Hillary campaign tactics against Obama - if she were on the ticket it would be a matter of hours before McCain used the footage of her saying how she and McCain had experience and Obama does not -- probably helped her Presidential campaign - but not so much her status as a VP candidate. . .
The other great thing about Biden is that he's willing to play offense, as we've seen over the last few months. Hard to say that about Kaine and Sebelius. After 2000 where Lieberman rolled over in his debate with Cheney, and 2004 where Edwards played nice when Kerry needed an attack dog, I'm liking Biden this year more and more.
I find Joan's argument against Bayh's vote on the Iraq war rather amusing considering Hillary gave a similar speech to Bayh's when Hillary was supporting the Iraq war. The very FEW women who are still can't gt over Hilary's lose need to move on. Hillary used her husband's experience as her own and Bill is exactly why she is not being considered. I frankly would lose some excitement for Obmaa if Hillary was chosen was chosen.
Up until these article, I had never heard of Kaine. If he is anti choice he would be a bad choice. Siebus would be a good choice becasue she is governor and from a swing state. I like Biden, but I want him to stay in the Senate. However NARAL only gives biden a 65% rating choice.
Bayh has a 100% pro-choice rating with NARAL. He is from a swing state. However Indiana has a R governor who could appoint a R Senator to repace Bayh.
Obama does not need a VP with foreign policy exeerince. Obama will be an excellent on foreign policy. His advice on foreign policy will come from his Secretary of State and Defense, not the VP. Only Bush has been driven by his VP.
