  • If I scare you clinton supproters and gop, just wait

"On another note. I watched speed racer yesterday. Great movie. don't beleive the hype. That movie is deeper than the ocean. It was almost like watching a story of my family histroy. Minus the racing of course. :)

My brother is being molded. He will far outsurpass me and what I do.

compromise clinton supporters (gop). think about the future. Two can play the all or nothing game. you don't want the game revesed gop. Believe me. compromise. for the sake of america, and the future.

Jail your criminal leaders. Get fox rush hannity oreilly and other fascist propgoandist who mislead and egg on the elderly for profit, OFF THE AIR. those are the demands gop. the result of not doing it is irrelevance for 30 years. Otherwise they must change and admit past mistakes, and stop making them now. Hannity off the air. Rush. O'reilly. beck. All of them. that is a peace offering. The gop declared war on america. only they can call off the dogs. The war (verbal) continues until they stand down. not until then. for the american elderlies sake, and well being, and mental peace. Fear does not exist. It is a sensor in our brians, a warning. to live in perpetual fear is slavery. Free the slaves. Not for us. but for them.

(out of many, we are one). don't leave them behind. Help[ them see the light. Over and over until they do. do not back down. Terrorsits (those who use fear and threats of vioelnce to acheive political means) only understand strength.

No need to apologize, but I do appreciate it. After my go-around with "HealTheNation," who can pin my ears to the wall, slice'm 'n dice'm, before I even realize they're bleeding, with his mastery of detail, I must have gotten a little sloppy and/or lazy in explaining myself.

So forget everything from before. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that every citizen of every country has as much love and pride in their country as we have in ours. We get in trouble when we don't have a good grasp of our own history, but show the rest of the world a self righteous indignation and point judgemental fingers at flaws in some of their actions.

Of course no country should "take over" any other country. But how many times should the leaders of Russia permit foreign invasions from the South, from Napolean to Hitler (the Hitler one cost 25,000,000 Russian lives) before they say "fuck this" and decide they need a buffer of "co-operative" countries between Europe and itself?

Now, we can discuss the merits, and demerits, of many actions, but at least we should understand the context in which the actions were taken. The Gulags were a curse on humanity, and the people sent their were considered undesireable or unneccesary...........kind of like the indiginous natives we found living here in the 17th. century. Why do we strut around with a superior air about ourselves when we have the largest prison population on earth, and the majority of the inmates are minorities, who we find undesireable or unneccessary?

There is only one possibility, one chance of hope for a bright future. That is education. Not what we have now, but real, comprehensive, challenging education. If we had it, we never would have had Bush, Iraq, loss of respect, and as Edwards said, "two Americas."

But that's a subject for another day.

"HUGE! Cardoza Switch -- First of 40

    by MLDB

Fri May 23, 2008 at 11:45:43 AM PDT

    Al Giordano Reports:

The Field has learned that Cardoza is the first of a group of at least 40 Clinton delegates, many of them from California, that through talking among themselves came to a joint decision that all of them would vote for Obama at the convention. They have informed Senator Clinton that it’s time to unite around Obama, and that they will be coming out, one or two at a time, and announcing their switch between now and the convention if Senator Clinton doesn’t do the same.

    Never fear...the end is near.

As Al points out, this is a net gain of 80 for Obama because every one that Obama gains, Clinton loses.

They will be coming out a few at a time until Clinton concedes.

somebody tell clinton to drop out, please. Stop grandstanding and making a fool of herself and her party.

"HRC cites RFK assassination in interview

    By JONATHAN MARTIN | 5/23/08 4:01 PM

Brings up Robert F. Kennedy's assassination during the 1968 campaign to explain why she is still in the race."

"Hillary cites RFK assassination in explaining why she's still in race

Hillary Clinton today cited the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy during the 1968 presidential campaign to explain why she was remaining in the race despite long odds.

"We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California," Clinton told the editorial board of a South Dakota newspaper. " I don't understand it," Clinton added, alluding to the calls for her to quit.

Clinton made the statement after pointing out that her husband didn't lock up the nomination until June of 1992, trying to point out that, by past history, it's not late in the campaign.

But Barack Obama received Secret Service protection one year ago this month, the earliest ever in presidential history, after reports of threats.

Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said in a statement that “Senator Clinton's statement before the Argus Leader editorial board was unfortunate and has no place in this campaign."

Clinton's made the comment to the Argus Leader newspaper in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Angered by this pc police? Which is worse? People calling clinton a bi*tch, or people threathening the next presidents life?

  • This is her mentality. And why she wil never be his vp. EVer. I don't trust her patriotism as much as I see her ambition. Traitor gop

""My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't understand it.""

I do agree with you. I teach about Yalta, the Soviets' idea of realpolitik, the belief they had that we had a "zone of influence" in Latin America so why shouldn't they, etc. George Kennan really did misinterpret the Soviets.

I have listened to the white house tapes of Kennedy fighting with Lemay and Co over the October Crisis. We really were one trigger away. I do think that Kennedy's restraint in the face of pressure will never be fully appreciated by younger generations.

I will never defend what happened to Allende, for instance. That was pure American hubris. And the Greeks are right about hubris- it is the most dangerous thing.

The problem is that for Americans, a certain anti-education streak has a very long history. That's why I referenced the Hofstadler book in the other thread. Some ordinary Americans have had a conflicted relationship with education. Education as a technical skill, to know math to keep from getting cheated, etc, they accept. Education in the sense of critical thinking, of reading and deciding for themselves, of being a good citizen and providing oversite for politicians? Not so much.

I run into people who think that all they need to read is the Bible. No dictionary, not another thing. They remind me of Frederick Douglass's comment that once a man can read he can never take being a slave again docilely, because education changes a person.

You are right that if education was valued we would not be in this situation. But there is a strong irrational streak in humans. Add an entertainment culture which seems to prize and validate stupidity, and well...we are here.

And gas is $3.97 where I am.
