@Karenn22 Clinton campaign memo re: MI revote
The Clinton campaign refuted each of Bauer's points in its own lengthy memo, asserting, "We must either honor the original vote or hold a state-run primary that doesn't leave the taxpayers footing the bill."
Do you have a link to that memo?

:)
I hear you rocky. Peace.
Just scaring the shit out of republcains. That's all. I like to put fear in them as we were so scared watching our nation get gutted and then have those gutting blame us for it. I like to get their hair up. Nothing shows their fascist racist faces like reversing their tactics on them.
Take me with a grain of salt. :)

Obama
Re :"Obama did not block a revote. The options suggested by both obama and the dnc were rejected by the clinton's."
Obama probably wanted a caucus. lol He probably figures that he stands to get more delegates in some "deal" with the DNC on May 31, or even at the convention, than he does in a revote.

@Karenn22
Karenn22: "Both Hillary and Obama agreed to this because the people on the DNC committe who made the decision to strip Florida and Muchigan were superdelegates. Let's be honest: If Obama had won these states he would want their delegates seated."
This seems like a pretty weak argument to me. Basically you're saying, Yes, they agreed to the rules, but of course neither candidate should have to follow those rules if they are not to his/her benefit. Sorry I don't buy it.
But thanks for the link to the Washington Post article about the Michigan revote. I hadn't heard that, and I'm definitely disappointed that Obama seems not to be supporting it. Although, obviously I don't know anything about the actual voting laws in Michigan-- maybe it really does pose some problems.

yeah

It "might" have had something to do with legality. Maybe it was rules and laws. do research, then come attack and blame obama and his supporters for all the world's ills. Know what yoru talking about first please.
She lost. clinton is now the past tense presidential candidate. ruining democratic chances in mi and fl, as well with the backbone of the democracic party (old white women) won't save her candidacy. It will only save the republcains from facing the conseqeunces of their actions. Nothing more. All she is doing is helping the republcains and mccain. nothing more. I hope they appriciate it. I think they will throw her old ladies to the curb when it suits them, as they will with clinton.

Why can't she play by the rules?
Why is it Hillary can't play by the original rules set up by the DNC. She had no problem with these rules when the election began. In fact she agreed to the rules. In fact some of her current advisers were on the rules committees for the DNC when the rules were written. Why didn't she fight for MI & FL then?
Why? because Hillary thought she was gong to be a shoe in.
There have been many offers to resolve this situation. She has refused all of them.
Having a re-vote this late would be stupid. The Democrats need to prepare for the General election against McCain. Hillary is doing much damage to the party. Frankly I think Obama would win MI in a re-vote.
Hillary stated today in FL that if the outcome on May 31 was not to her satisfaction she would take it to the convention. She claims says she is doing it for FL & MI voters. No she is doing it for herself.
Ironically Obama has 15,000 people at his rally in Tampa today. Hillary's crowd paled in comparison.

I DO know what I'm talking about and I've posted the links to prove it. The DNC and the state of Michigan were willing to hold a revote, but Obama didn't agree to it. It's as simple as that.
And I haven't attacked Obama or his suporters for all the world's ills. I'm just saying to quit whining about Hillary asking to seat the delegates or for possibly taking her case to the convention. She is not breaking the rules or cheating. That's total BS. I haven't demonized Obama, nor do I see him as a saint. Too bad you can't see that. I've really only attacked the media for its sexist coverage of Hillary.

@Karenn re: Obama Memo
Thanks for the link. I've already seen Obama's memo, but I haven't seen the 'rebuttal' one from the Clinton side. Do you know of anybody (or any postings) with sufficient expertise to evaluate the claims and counter claims? I'm looking somebody with some legal standing and knowledge of applicable state and federal case law (without paying $500+/hr)
The Clinton memo didn't appear to state why the revote would be legal under federal laws. It only pointed out that it appears to follow DNC rules and some state laws. Which is not exactly the same thing.
I remember that some people in FL sued over the DNC move to strip the delegates, including a state senator. They might have had a compelling sounding case to some, but the courts have disagreed.

@Karenn22
Thanks for the link to the full memos from both sides.
I read through both, and the Clinton memo does not really address the key legal issues that the Obama camp raises. The entire Clinton memo takes on a really petulant tone and basically just says, "Obama hates Michigan. Obama hates Democracy." So to say that the Clinton campaign "refuted each of Bauer's points" is really disingenuous.
