To the progressives who STILL fear the gop
"GOP scrambles after Mississippi loss
By JOHN BRESNAHAN & PATRICK O'CONNOR | 5/14/08 2:25 PM EST Text Size:
Cole said Wednesday morning that no major changes were in the works at the NRCC yet.

Republican House leaders are scrambling to contain the damage after a third straight special election loss, with NRCC Chairman Tom Cole putting the blame on the party’s public image and former NRCC Chairman Tom Davis warning of a bloodbath in November if members can’t divorce themselves from the “brand” put on their party by President Bush"
the gop is done for a generation. Fear them not. this makes the main stream media and clinton's sell-out to them all the more curious. The gop is irrelevant for a generation. Rightfully so. Rather tahn jailing hteir criminals they choose party irrelevance. Do not fear the gop.
to those you say it's not about what they do but about what WE do, you right? Start with clinton. Tell her to stop pariasing fox and courting gop votes. Bad gop votes, not the good people. She's courting the racists and fascsits. Not the good republicans, and yes there are some. :)
It's like the nfl, before last year of course. The superbowl is never the good game or the game with the best teams. Our superbowl is the primary. mccain already lost. Clinton is playing a blackmail game. If she doesn't win the nom she will demand to be vp. Obama turns that down she will do what she can do. Thinking of herself. She will be mccain's vp and try to take her latinos and old ladies to the gop. Let her I say. Let's build this party without in party sabotage, or republcains posing as dem's selling out to their true party. Think about the future. The cow folk are done. They had their time, they wasted it. Pity them not for their irrelevacne. Did they pity us progressives/liberals?

Thank you for your thoughtful post, but we’ll have to agree to disagree. I think it’s racist to vote for or against someone because of that person’s racial background. Similarly, I think it’s prejudiced in general to vote for or against someone because of their race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, etc.
And I don’t think “Hey, it’s about time” is justifiable in choosing a candidate. In a country as large and diverse as the United States, it will always be “time” for some group. Isn’t it about time we had an Asian-American President, and if/when we do, won’t it be time for a Chinese-American President, a Japanese-American President, a Vietnamese-American President? When will it be time for an Indian-American President, which is not to be confused with when it’s time for a Native American President? If Obama is elected President, when will be time for the first African-American president descended from slaves? When will it be time for the first Hispanic President, and then the first Mexican-American, Cuban-American, and Puerto Rican-American President? For that matter, when will it be time for the first Italian-American President, the first Polish-American President or the first Arab-American President? When will it be time for the first Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Mormon or atheist President? The first gay, lesbian or bi President?
I also think the “Hey, it’s about time” argument can quickly lead to “Hey, you had your turn” especially from members of groups arguing that “it’s about time” for them.

Re - WHY does Obama have to reach out to "Hillary's base"?
When he wins the nomination, won't Clinton (a loyal Democrat) ENDORSE Obama and tell her supporters to vote for him?
If they're so passionate about Hillary, won't they respect her wishes and vote for Obama?
Because by voting for Clinton, her supporters didn't join a cult beholden to their leader's wishes.
I haven't yet heard Hillary Clinton say if Obama wins the nom, she's voting for McCain. Tho I guess it wouldn't shock me if she did.
She's only said about a million times that Obama is vastly preferably to McCain. Just today she said that it would be a terrible mistake for her supporters to vote for McCain over Obama. See http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/14/clinton/index.html
Thanks for paying attention.

Hillary Runs a Racist Campaign...
...and Obama has to apologize for it.
Pretty much sums up every single post concern troll Joan "White working Class Irish"TM Walsh has written this primary season.

Hey, Greenjob...
Thanks so much.
Hillary supporter, huh? I can just tell. Something that comes across in your tone of post.
So...if I'm understanding your logic correctly, Obama has to reach out to Hillary supporters because there's no reason to believe they'll listen to her suggestion to vote for Obama?
Because they're not cult-members?

Because by voting for Clinton, her supporters didn't join a cult beholden to their leader's wishes.
Okay, a new ride has opened in bitterville, Hillary Land, exit 6/04/08 - it's called the WHAAAAAAAAAAAA....
He is not a cult leader - just a man running for office - we are not cult followers - just voters exercising our rights to vote for who we feel will better lead this country. If anything, you guys sound like you got yourselves nailed to the cross with all the bitterness and complaining. She didn't die for your sins, her campaign lost. Easter is over, get off the cross, green.

I actually think that's pretty damn funny. Every time I re-read it, I chuckle.
Based on the sound, I'd say the ride is roller coaster.
That might be you cue to say a roller coaster that's about to go off the rails.

I know he's not a cult leader. I was using hyperbole to point out the absurdity of blunderdog's post.
