Hillary Clinton's "hardworking Americans" comment seemed to exclude blacks. Donna Brazile's "new" Democratic vision marginalized working-class whites and Latinos. How does the party unite?

  • A moment of silence, please

not for partisanship and deliberately misunderstanding on both sides (and i don't mean republican v. democrat), but for the two party system. why has no one seen that if these divides exist, and are real and irreconcilable, a third party really needs to be born -- after all, it's way past its ninth month already.

  • what should Hillary do?

She should learn to sing "Don't cry for me Argentina."

  • In addition to alienating some white voters, I seem to recall that the "other minorities" do not generally feel

much "solidarity" when black folks cry racism ... Do I remember correctly that Obama is not gaining ground with Hispanics either?

But god knows African-Americans are not our only minority population that receives regular harrassment and disrespect and is inadequately represented politically ...

I'm doubtful you can find anyone to condone racism. But it appears almost self-indulgent when we condemn racisim absolutely unequivocally day in and day out ... An acknowledgement there is REAL active dangerous racism of consequence towards other groups, off the top of my head, such as Native Americans, Hispanics and Middle Easterners might be appropriate. oh, and Jews. Some of it is more regional that others but it too is America's shame. Oh, and then there's homophobia

Yeah, land of the free, home of the brave, and we are all endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights ...

  • There is only one "race" The Human Race..!

The more we talk about "race" the more we perpetuate it has an issue..!

I suspect The DNC would rue the day Race ceased to be an issue they can manipulate, and even worse racism ceased to be a factor to help perpetuate The Republican swine which are it's idiotic ruinous base..

We know now through advanced genetic research that the difference between human beings and chimpanzees is only .4% genetically so the difference between any slight variation of human beings is genetically immeasurable, scientifically this is a fact chimpanzees are 99.6% identical to we so called human beings..

What this means is there is Only One Race The Human Race, for better or worse like it or not and we kill and eat our own even babies..which is not necessarily true of chimpanzees..!

What would the DNC (or Chris Matthews or Tim Russert for that matter) do without "race" or the Republicans without abortion..?

Then they would have to "Serve The People", and we can't have any of that now, can we..?

  • Why are BLACKS beholden to the DEMOCRATS???

As the DEMBHOLES have been paranoid/stultified by race ever since THOMAS JEFFERSON[and his male family of abusing their 'slaves' sexually] used the promulgation of a 'NATIONAL BANK' to mask their real fear of the CONGRESS abolishing slavery - those DEMBHOLES have always attempted to hide/subjugate their uneasiness about speaking/talking/addressing the question of race in this country!!! WHAT MAKES YOU ASSUME THAT HILLARY & D^CKHEAD OF CLINTON INC.[despite his erroneously being labeled the 'country's first BLACK President'] WILL VENTURE TO ASSIGN THE INEQUITIES OF BOTH BLACKS AND WHITES(or even the growing larger LATINO/A population) IN ANY DIALOGUE/CONVERSATION??? The DEMBHOLE PARTY through its leaders and constituents have proved and shown themselves to be cowards and frauds - only wishing to keep BLACK VOTERS in their place as chattel for DEMBHOLE POLS - who promise everything - and deliver nothing!!!

  • Should I blame all Clinton supporters for this?

    Blacks can go to hell.

Dems are better off without them. So are the GOP frankly.

THAT is a racist comment. But I only blame ShawnMW. He does not represent ALL Clinton supporters, no more than any other rude obnoxious person represents ALL of any other group.

It disturbs me to see people extrapolate obnoxious behavior by people who may or may not be what they represent themselves to be as representative of an entire group. I see Clinton supporters extrapolating one or two idiots to be "all Obamaites" and I see Obama supporters extrapolating one or two idiots as "all Clintonites".

We are individuals. This grouping stuff is lazy. Lay off it.

And Shawn, your quote above is racist. Period. If you don't like being called a racist, don't condemn blacks to hell because you disagee with us. You are as abusive as you claim to be the victim of.

  • The Race Question

Don't you think that it may have been more appropraite to say that Americans, whatever their political affiliation, should learn to really talk about race? As long as the MSM continues to negatively focus on African Americans as criminals, as drugs dealers and abusers and pimps, and add to that the spector of the now defamed Jeremiah Wright, a real conversation about race can never be breached. Poor working whites, poor whites are disenchanted about blacks for a number of reasons, the least of which is poor whites believe that blacks have better access to the benefits of being an American than they do. For many poor whites still believe that they may be poor, but at least their still white. These are inflammatory statements that will cause many people to deflect from the fact that poor whites struggle and fail in the shadows of all minorities because of the stigma of being poor. It's about time as a nation that we come to grips with not only race issues but how poverty cripples everyone, black, white and anything in between.

I have read in many blogs and print magazines that it is assumed that Obama, if elected will spearhead programs to better the lives of African Americans. I'm certain that these kinds of statements will be damning to his electability with working white people because what do they have to gain if he is elected. The sad thing is, I've never heard Obama make this statement and yet this is the kind of divisive media attack that will deflate his chances of even being able to establish a meaningful dialogue with working whites who have just as much right to their dreams as African Americans.

The pettiness of our collective identity is showing and it's about time that everyone start looking at the candidates, their platforms, and what they say they will do to improve all of our lives after the upcoming election. It's time for all of us to stop and reflect and to really think, before opening our mouths and making rash statements...we all have too much to lose!
