@proudtexasgirl.....God I love you! my only hope is that egoists will ignore you.
Wow, can anyone NOT think you are an ignorant racist or Republican Shill. I hope that my liberal thoughtful brethren will just ignore you and not waste energy....

You know what, Joan?
Let's just cut to the ObamaZombie's top 5 brayed excuses for their stupidity and ultimate failure: (which we'll hear for the next six months anyway)
1. Racism
2. Hillary
3. Rednecks,Hilljacks,Bubba's etc
4. Jews and feminazis
5. Rush
6. Republicans
7. more racism
8. the media
9. space aliens
Meanwhile I'd have liked to have some mention of REAL racism, antisemitism, elitism, K-Street lobbyists and vote manipulation in Lake County.
Not to mention health care, insurance, jobs, deficits, globalization and fair taxation.
So now the left and the usual black demagogues have succesfully degraded a critical election into a finger-pointing (and vulgarity) contest and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory (I still just can't believe it) when Mrs. Clinton would have handily won every Dem leaning state AND the swing states and even some GOP leaning states...
I just can't believe it. I just can't #^#@&$ believe it.
But I'll be damned if I'm going to entertain these buck-toothed idiots and their trumped up bogus charges and non-issues until November when Obama is handed his glaringly obvious defeat.

What are you going to do when Obama wins ShawnWM?
I'm just curious.
Are you going to consign him to the dustbin of history with those other Democratic nominees who "couldn't win": Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman and John F. Kennedy (with his supposed, unconquerable "Catholic problem.")
I'm sincerely interested to see. I kind of wonder if it's going to be like the Kennedy presidency where by 1963 he was doing a great job, had high approval ratings but certain people who had viewed him as "too inexperienced" continued to live in their own pretend world where he was a horrible president.
Or the isolationists who continued to insist Franklin Roosevelt was wrong for fighting World War II long after he was dead and we had won.
Seriously what are you going to be doing on January 20, 2009? What about come, say, 2011 when we're getting the last of our troops out of Iraq?
Are you still going to be one of those bizarre people screaming about the terrible job he did? I'm sincerely curious.

we're winning ShawnWM
If anyone is going to look for excuses it's you republcians. As you are now. clinton lost. mccain has zero shot. Acknowledge reality and move forward. Baby steps. Start with the basics first.
1. Clinton is out
2. Obama is the nominee
that's first off. start with that. Wrap your mind around that, then move forward.
3. mccain is bush 3 NOW. The people are very against bush 2. PAST VS THE FUTURE.
What is bush's pol numbers? What is yoru moderate sell-outs leading congress's numbers? Lower or higher than bush?
don't hate and blame us, tough guy. We are cleaning up the mess you people are to scared or stupid to clean up yourselves.
Rather than hating and blaming us for what you people have done, I would prefer a thank you.

Shawn
You've got your ass in the past, which is why your girl finished last.

More hypocrisy.
Oh, I see so now PTG is a "racist" presumably for refusing to say the Emperor who was wearing no clothes wasn't, like everyone else, but basement-iq'd bozo's and masters of vulgarity that were calling me "Shawn White Male" for months on end and engaging in an unending trashing of rural whites, women of any ethnicity, hispanics and especially jews... They all deserve to stay on and continue to bring Salon to it's lowest common denoninator.
My advice:
Enjoy your own little backslapping circle-jerk on Salon. Hell only knows you won't find it anywhere else.
The left truly is it's own worst enemy.
-
@ ShawnWM
I don't usually address you, but I cannot imagine why you cannot see that someone who says that black people should go back to Africa is not a racist. How do you defend that sort of shit?
-
Dems learning to be racists
It's hard not to get sick of the cynicism of punlits like Brazile and Begala. True to form, they break voters down to "constituencies" rather than American voters and try to judge which group will vote for whom. It's at least possible that American voters will surprise everyone and vote for the candidate they decide is most fit to become president.
And yes, Democrats have learned to talk about race but in my view some of them have also learned to be racists.

Shawn
The "left" has left your ass behind, nuckle draggers like you come from another time.
-
No, we can't talk about race unless we talk about class!!!!
Here is an interesting question. What percentage of African Americans make 96K dollars a year, which is the very low end that Hilary uses to describe the middle class...the higher end is 250K? Could it be that since the median family income is 42K, which means HALF make less than 42K, that they identify with Obama not just because of the color of his skin?
Maybe it has something to do the criminal justice system in that many more AA have contact- either directly or indirectly thru family members with the criminal justice system. All AA, either directly or indirectly thru family, have had EXPERIENCES with the criminal justice system that can only produce resentment and suspicions that the middle and upper middle class Salon readers have NO experience with.
I hate this part of posting here, but I have worked in the "criminal justice" system in Indiana for 3 years. It is so messed up that us white middle class folk become frustrated with the irrationality and power relation problems why wouldn't the black community be at the least bitter but completely alienated from the political system. In this county black kids are picked for WWB...You don't have to drive to be pulled over. Friday afternoon cops go out cruising and if you are WALKING and don't have a driver license you are taken in for false reporting and are held until Monday morning.
Now the question becomes how did Obama get so many votes in this state and in a county that hasn't gone to a Democrat since FDR?
Perhaps one shouldn't be so hard on Salon readers because these issues are never the object of investigative journalism. Instead resourced are allocated for other things...which is fine, except when the editor wants to have an intense discussion of race, when the facts needed to discuss it are systematically ignored.
