Thank you for your thoughtful post. I understand that there are many thoughful Obama supporters who are throughly decent people. I am really not a hater at all even though I have come close with the Bush administration. I don't hate Obama, in fact I have sympathy for him. It seems by all accounts that abandonment might be his biggest issue and I believe that it explains how he can go after a boomer woman in such a dismissive way.My problem with him is his lack of preparedness.I find his candidacy erily similar to W's,he is smart,well educated,and has tapped into a strong desire within the electorate in a superficial way. He and his handlers would have us believe that he has superior intutions because of his life story,he has built a movement of true believers, and he will be heavily dependent on non elected advisors.Hillary for all of her flaws has spent a lifetime trying to figure out how to deliver progressive policies.I don't think she is owed the presidency, I think she has earned it with a lifetime of hard work and preparation.

I suppose what Begala meant to say was that Obama seems to have landed Section 8 Shanaynay and C-4 Khalid, but he's missed the boat on Joe 6-pack. Professor PI can carry the college towns, but BHO isn't exactly what union steel workers and others that actually work for a living out here in fly-over country are looking for in a candidate: you know, a guy with a Bible, a Beretta, and a Budweiser... not a Koran, an ACLU membership, and an unbrella drink.
Obama's disingenuous "God Bless America" Tuesday night sounded as sincere as my kids apologizing to each other after a fight - "I'm sorry... boogerhead..." He almost choked saying it, like it was foreign to him. He must figure he's close enough now that he doesn't have to worry about alienating the Rev Wright/Farrakhan PAC or lose the Hamas/Jimmy Carter backing.
I don't think Obama can beat McCain - who is utterly beatable and weak. But then again, Bush was weak and beatable and all we could muster was a global warming moron and a traitor with ketchup money... so maybe the jackass is a fitting symbol afterall. Too bad Bayh didn't run.
