Hillary Clinton's big, brass ... fortitude

She battled Bill O'Reilly (and won) while hammering away on her gas-tax holiday plan, critics be damned.

Joan Walsh: Hillary Clinton Infomercial

First, who cares? I thought the guy who made the comment sounded like an idiot. I'm not even convinced he knew what he was saying. Maybe he doesn't know the difference between his intestines and his balls.

Second, I thought Clinton handled it fine. What can you do when some maroon makes a lame ass comment like that?

Third, Joan, you are sounding more and more like a Hillary infomercial everyday.

I suppose it would be pointless to ask you to stop?

Hillary and the gas tax

I too loved watching her in the BATTLE against Bill-O, especially after the first night, when Bill-o had a "Mathews tingle" moment, and even the Obama girls were full of praise for Hillary. Clinton is a leader, unafraid to face tough questions, understands both points of view, forms HER OWN conclusions and is unafraid to defend them. Clinton is well known, warts and all. She doesn’t shy away from anything or anyone, which is exactly what this country needs.

Hillary knows her stuff, which is why Obama is afraid to debate her a FOURTH time, one on one. We’re being asked to choose between the two of them, and the important thing is NOT BO’s ego or fear, it’s OUR right to cast an informed vote.

We need to judge the issues and the person, that’s our job. Obama claims Clinton’s desire for another debate is a desperate move. I disagree. I think she looks at the numbers of people who watched those last 3 debates and sees a country caught between two ground breaking choices. Obama looks at himself, she looks at us.

His latest break with his beloved mentor, who he dedicated his books to, placed on his Religious Advisory council, described as the one who gut checks him on the issues, and brought him to political prominence in Chicago by getting him involved in the POLITICAL side of community service, is a totally POLITICAL move.

His “outrage” was NOT based on what Wright said about Jews, Whites, “Rich People” or the Country. It was based on what Wright said about HIM, saying that Obama, a self described high minded new kind of political leader, was in fact a POLITICIAN. I think, given the intimate relationship Wright has had with BO for 20 plus years, he is telling the truth.

Obama, who has the NAFTA/Canada thing, the REAL PLANS FOR IRAQ thing, the “monster” thing, the lies about his PRIVATE statements to those Fat Cats in SF thing, the REZKO thing, the ABC debate thing, with the Capital Gains Tax thing, and of course the many versions of the WRIGHT thing, has a problem .

He calls her Gas Tax holiday a political shell game. That is another cheap shot from Obama. When Obama talks about lobbyists promoting Clinton’s GAS TAX holiday, he should be careful.

DAVID AXELROD IS THE GO TO GUY FOR EXELON. You remember them, right? The Big Energy Nuclear Energy Company who leaked waste water into the water table in Illinois? Obama claimed he had “passed” a tough waste reporting Bill against them and others in Iowa, the “ONE Bill I passed all year.”

He NEVER passed ANY Bill regulating nuclear waste; he never got it out of committee. He was NEVER called on that lie by the love sick, biased media. That’s a good thing, as EXELON was his largest bundler of cash for his campaign for the Senate.

Here's why I agree with her on the gas tax.

1. Obama is distorting Clinton's Bill. The tax holiday is TIED TO a tax on windfall PROFITS on Oil Companies. It does not exist in a vacuum. Her proposal demands a new tax on Big Oil to offset the tax relief for consumers. Her Bill is not a "holiday" but a permanent vacation. Raising the price will only increase taxes for Big Oil, so I doubt they would do that.

2. I am offended by Obama's brush off of $30.00 being "nothing." It's baby food, another half tank of gas, medicine, food; it's something to many of us. To Obama it's nothing, but not for all of us. As a Realtor, I can assure you, I would welcome it.

3. Not everyone impacted by this is a Honda driver. For drivers of dump trucks, who spend $1200 for a tank of diesel, the tax is HUGE. For cabbies in NYC, that tax is real money, and for many proves fatal to their business. Obama says he sees many folks paying AS MUCH AS $100 for gas from their monthly pay. I don't know anyone who ONLY pays $100 a MONTH. When was the last time he bought gas?

4. She DOESN’T agree with McCain. Her BILL is far different. She ACTED immediately, wrote the BILL, and like ALL of her solutions it pays for itself. Of course PELOSI will block it because SHE is supporting BO, regardless of what she claims. Like everything Clinton says or does, Queen Pelosi drags it down, dismisses it, or trashes it.

PELOSI, OBAMA and DEAN are also BLOCKING the seating of the FULL FLA delegation in spite of the 30 days of RULE BREAKING CAMPAING ADS RUN ON CABLE BY OBAMA IN FLA BEFORE THE PRIMARY. They will punish the VOTERS, but NOT OBAMA. The latest deal is the delegates can be seated but they can not vote if it gets Clinton over the top. Imagine. So of course, they blow off the Gas Tax Holiday. Why, if they care so much for the Country, would the DNC BLOCK votes from counting, delegates from voting, and a good Bill taxing Oil Revenues from getting to the floor?

5. Tax Holidays WORK if they are offset by another non consumer tax. Summer is the big driving season for moving goods across America, and will make a huge difference in the expenses for transportation. To demean the savings without including the offset in new taxes from Oil is meaningless. They blow it off because IN THE PAST Congress has blocked attempts to force Oil to pay its way. Obama voted for the Cheney Energy Bill, giving tax breaks to Big Oil, which could be why he is so sure Big Oil will never pay a dime in Windfall Profits TAXES. OBAMA IS standing in the way of CHANGE. CHANGE is taxing Big Oil, not the end user.

So Rise, Hillary, Rise! Change is on the Way!
