Hillary Clinton's big, brass ... fortitude

She battled Bill O'Reilly (and won) while hammering away on her gas-tax holiday plan, critics be damned.

Obama knows all about pandering

It is really interesting that when a candidate is out there trying to find a way to help the American people and proposes an idea, it is called pandering. Oh right, it's just when Hillary does it. One thing I didn't see a single critic mention over the last two days is that Clinton also came up for a way to pay for it. Hillary’s plan does not take money away from road and bridge repairs. Hillary pays for the tax relief by taxing the windfall profits of oil companies. Those very same windfall profits that Senator Obama made possible. This plan doesn't derail her environmental stance because it is only a short period time.

Obama was quick to jump on the pandering band wagon, but there is one thing that he didn't tell you.....In 2000, gasoline prices were climbing. Illinois legislators scrambled to offer some election-year relief to angry motorists.

Obama even joked that he wanted signs on gas pumps telling motorists that he was responsible for lowering prices.

Obama voted three times for a tax holiday.

The version that ended up becoming law required a six-month suspension of the state’s share of the sales tax on gasoline, a 5 percent tax paid directly by consumers rather than gas stations. It also required gas stations to post signs on their pumps saying that the Illinois General Assembly had lowered taxes and the price should reflect that cut. Guess Obama

wanted to make sure his pandering got special recognition.

Just for the record, the gas prices that were so high in 2000

were $2.00 a gallon.

Flame & Coffee

Well, on one level, of course he was, by linking strength to having something only a man can literally have. But sexism rankles most when it's used to discriminate or belittle; when it's wrapped in a compliment, it's harder to be harsh about it.

Joan Walsh, you are a fucking moron, but oh how I admire your ovarian fortitude.

This is so stupid

It's over after Tuesday, right?

Can't we have a reasonable discussion here about how to bring the Hillary Delusionists back to reality?

As politically useful as teats on a bull?

Why are Democrats surprised at all, at what the Clintons are doing to Barack Obama? The Clintons are professional character assassins, self-serving bullies propped up by a legion of mincing sycophants. Sid Blumenthal is the vicious poster boy for Clinton toadies. The Rev. Jeramiah Wright’s not really a problem for Obama, as Wright’s obviously, to any thinking American, just another religious fruitcake along the lines of Jimmy Swaggart, Oral Roberts, and Louis Farrakan. If anything, Wright provides a phony pretext for racist democrats to not vote for Obama.

Bill Clinton wasn’t the first black president and Hillary Clinton doesn’t have balls; he’s a boorish sexual predator and she’s his protective asexual screeching harridan. Isn’t it ironic that the first serious female presidential candidate has testicle envy? Maybe she could do with a set every now and then, you think? We all have our base needs. What has Hillary ever done to prove that she has courage, besides being a bullying female that hides behind her sex? She wasn’t shot at in Bosnia. She does though apparently wear the army boots in the Clinton family. She’s now singing John McCain’s paraphrased Beach Boys refrain to Barbara Ann.

So Obama now has a problem the Clinton camp and media say, he’s failed in some large states to win over some blue collar white voters and Hispanics. Is that why he’s won substantial portions of blue collar white voters in places as far flung as Idaho and Maine, Washington, Hawaii, and Iowa? The fact is Hillary’s gone for the redneck and mariachi vote and set her sights on those residual pockets of racist white voters in the populous states like PA, OH, and MA, and on Hispanics, the one ethnic group that really believes racial solidarity trumps American national sovereignty. Hillary Clinton would sell our country’s future to Latin America, Mexico primarily, if it would get her elected President in 2008.

@ Bob in Pacifica

I don't have the answer to that except to suggest that a good start would probably be not calling them names.

"The mariachi vote"? How does this further the debate? How does this transcend racism and classism? Is this the change that Obama calls for?

REMEMBER ALL THE CLINTONS SCANDALS!!!!!

Do NOT to vote for that horrible woman!!! Reasons...

The Clintons and partners, Jim and Susan McDougal in the Whitewater Development , whose accounts were kept in the Madison Guaranty Savings & Loan, run by Jim McDougal, with Hillary Clinton as attorney. Federal bank examiners testified that Madison Guaranty was "politically corrupt and routed millions of dollars to politically connected Arkansans."

In the more reserved language, an official report, Madison Guaranty was the scene of "embezzlement," "money laundering," "falsification of loan records and board minutes," "wire fraud" and "illegal campaign contributions" .

Money looted by Jim McDougal found its way into the Whitewater account and into Bill Clinton's political campaign funds. These frauds left the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation to pay more than $60 million to depositors with accounts in Madison Guaranty.

By firing all U.S. Attorneys shortly after becoming president -- something no other president had ever done before -- Clinton got rid of the U.S. Attorney in Arkansas who was investigating the Whitewater-Madison Guaranty scandals and replaced him with Paula Casey, Clinton protege, one of his political campaign workers.

This cover-up and obstruction of justice from succeeding was the appointment of a special prosecutor. Kenneth Starr could not be put on administrative leave. He got more than 20 felony convictions from Arkansas jury, overwhelmingly Democratic state.

Various records showing Hillary Clinton's work for Madison Guaranty were destroyed and others stolen by Webster Hubbell and "lost" in the White House.
