Obama "outraged" by Wright

What his pastor said Monday "directly contradicts everything I've done in my life."

The letters thread is now closed.

He doesn't expect to win, Rose.

Obama threw the guy under the bus the night before he announced he was running for President. He knew Wright was problematic from the get-go. Obama was being asked as far back as atleast December about some of Wright's sermons. He ignored it.

He doesn't expect to win and he doesn't care what happens to people when he loses, Rose. It's been obvious since at least Super Tuesday when he lost FL (elderly and hispanic) NJ (Catholic and Hispanic) ,CA (hispanic and Asian) ,NJ (hispanic and Catholic) and MASS )Catholic) AND the Southwest, (where McCain is from and will do well) that he COULD not win importantly Democratic constituencies. Ohio and Pennsylvania merely solidified it.

Any person in the Obamateur's shoes that was a REAL Democrat would have gotten out of the way and let the strong candidate take the nomination.

On the other hand, if he's a willful spoiler as I suspect greatly than he would stay in and try to divide the Democratic voters and weaken the strong candidate as long as he could.

(while of course calling for HER to drop out).

@ncawley

Getting in on this one late but want you to know that I couldn't agree with you more. Why can't the true believers see that Obama and Wright are playing "good cop, bad cop".

Obama made his initial justifications, excuses and cerebral explanations about Wright's comments without passion or emotion. It was clear that Wright had to come out again with more outrageous comments to give his friend an excuse to "get mad"in public. And what timing! Just a week before Indiana and Obama is now outraged. HA, HA.

Obama is a real passive aggressive...he wants everyone else to be angry for him...but you know what? He didn't manipulate all of us. The "Reverend" will be keeping his word about showing up on the steps of the White House to collect the day after...if...Obama is elected. Will we be talking about only race for the next four years rather than how we're all going down the toilet together because of Iraq, prosecuting the Bush criminals, etc., etc., etc.??? I'd like to see a black man or woman President one day but this guy is not the one.

Sad to say, Wright Was More Right Than Wrong.

If we are outraged by Wright calling attention to our military addiction, which has been around since World War 2, perhaps this is a good sign because maybe many of us will finally become aware of what we have become since creating our empire.

@GThrasher

One thing is certain: you sure aren't confused. There's an old Chinese curse about "leaving a man only with his thoughts". Good luck in your own prison.

Infidenlity

pandas said yesterday: "The only ones who should be and who are likely to use this “issue” against the Clinton’s are the Republicans, and there are plenty of Republicans that have problems with infidelity..."

However Republicans are not held accountable for infidelities, only Democrats are.

John McCain was blatantly commiting adultery on his (then) wife who stood by him while he was a POW, but not one single member of the "Values Voters" Community will dare mention it. However every member of that same community will hold Hillary Clinton accountable for Bill Clinton's sins.

In fact, if necessary, these same "Christians" will hold Barak Obama accountable for Bill Clinton's sins merely by association.

Even arch-Conservative Pat Buchanan, in the context of Rev. Hagee, as described the seperate (meaning non-existant) set of standards that are (not) applied to John McCain. The Mainstream media keep saying, "but that will end soon". A line we have been hearing since November 2007. That "soft touch" reporting may actually end some day, but not likely until the last year of John McCan's second term as President.

@bringbackmalcom;; You post like a lost and confused man..

I understand white racism has stained and wounded Black folks in so many ways..some of us become hopeless, angry, parrots, losers, militant, confused like you..

I do understand the effects of white racism and negrophobia..

@bringbackmalcolm

Thanks for sharing your feelings. Very well said.

@sugarman & thrasher

Thrasher, every thought doesn't arise from a cliche. If I said that some Blacks fall into pathological traps does not mean I am damning us all with the "worst enemy" tag.

Sugarman, having "a car and a computer" (I hope you were being witty) does not - to me - announce having made it. Life, and it's battles are a whole lot more complicated than that.

And last, neither me or my children believe that White people should feel guilty for the next 100 years about past atrocities. We don't want pity. Just recognize and stop. The hardest thing to do, for anybody, is not be racist against somebody. My Father hated Jews, for whatever reason. He never said it to us directly as children but made enough comments for us to figure out. My brother and I thought he was crazy, since a lot of our pals were Jewish. You are absolutely right about many Latino's. I've had many hundreds who worked for me (mostly Dominicans) and they are very color conscious. I wasn't naive because I never gave a shit about what anyone thought of me anyway (I always hear from White people, even good friends, that I am arrogant. I guess if a Black man can hold his own anywhere he is arrogant - see Obama). I also recognize that there is no race that wouldn't crap on the other if it had the power.

By the way, my handle is 'bringbackmalcolm' - as in Malcolm X, because I find him admirable. As an upright man willing to reflect and see where he has erred, not too proud to admit it and change, but still comfortably Black.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT PAYBACK

THAT YOU AND THE REST OF THE PUNDITS DON'T GET?

Typical of your impulsive judgment, you see and hear only what you want to see and hear.

Would you change your mind about this sad and angry Obama if you knew that his anger was mostly because he knew that Wright surfacing at this time was a direct result of Obama's little speech in Philadelphia. And gee whiz! We thought Obama was saying kind words about the guy, right? Or was he? I mean, Obama said he could no longer disavow the guy than he could his grandmother. Bullshit! He disavowed a long time ago, and Wright knew it and so did Obama when he spoke it.

Obama threw the guy under the bus the night before he announced he was running for President. He knew Wright was problematic from the get-go. Obama was being asked as far back as atleast December about some of Wright's sermons. He ignored it.

The Obama campaign has not been forthcoming or honest about so much, it's hard to start itemizing it. Obama was pissed - again - because this clown was jeopardizing his nomination. Tough.

SO, I'LL ASK AGAIN: WHAT IS IT ABOUT PAYBACK THAT YOU AND THE REST OF THE MEDIA DON'T UNDERSTAND ABOUT THIS MESS?
