I was an enthusiastic Obama supporter until I watched the Bill Moyers interview Friday night. Now, it is with a heavy heart that I tell my friends that Obama cannot win the general election. Joan Walsh's assessment of Wright and his sermons is spot-on. Funny, I was out with friends on Thursday night vigorously defending Obama, saying he was a good man who could win the election even with Wright a p.r. problem. Then, I met friends on Saturday night and my take was depressingly different. They sat there shocked when I told them Obama could not win. Wright is a true liability who does not understand America or believes in the idea of America. I found him and his outsized ego appalling.

I am a former newspaper reporter and Obama was the first candidate to whom I gave money (ok, the donations have been small, but it was a big leap for me to make them). It saddens me to say this, but Barack Obama cannot win in November. And neither can Hillary Clinton.

I thought you were leaving...Now, get the fuck out and go where you can nod up and down and agree with all the other mindless windbags...

Jooan, how can you continue to attempt dialogue about Pastor Wright, Barak Obama's former Pastor, without a single word about the felonous Pastor of Hillary Clinton, William Procanick. William Procanick is currently serving three(3) years in Prison for Child Molestation Of A 7 Year Old Girl.

The acts of Hillary's Pastor, William Procanick, deserve far more dialogue as a result of his behavior than the words of Pastor Wright presented from the sound bites of segments of the Media.

Onesided presentations such as this is and has been the status quo additude of the Media in America. The People demand to see and hear a dialogue and an indepth report about the child molesting Pastor William Procanick, Hillary Clinton's Pastor. McCain's Pastor does'nt matter.

Until you recognise that you continue to intentionally perpetuate the divide in America based upon lies and half truths, you will continue to stoke your ego as a contributant to society. No debate is true without pros and cons of all pertinent issues. This continual disply of your Bias as a Media representative is reflective of the basic issue at hand.

Racism in America is deeply ingrained in the Hearts and Minds of persons like you. Your personal ideals should not be advanced for whatever your purpose without a transparent expression of your intent, that People may choose not read or listen to you and your Media coharts.

Joan, You are biased. Come out of denial. You words and lack of action speak volumns. Hillary's Pastor, William Procanick is a Child Molester currently serving three years in Prison. Wright is hurting Barack[?] [that's an excuse for those who don't want to point out the (usual) elephant in the room]; social reality is hurting Barack. Interestingly enough, there's Louis Bayard's trenchant article on the Flag "spearing" of Teddy Landsmark by south boston Irish toughies, in the wake of Arthur Garrity's busing order as an accompanyment to Joan's column.

The problem is, as I've said before, Obama had to "draw to an inside straight" if he wanted to win the nomination and the presidency and that has not changed. Wright just provides the fig leaf alot of working class whites can use to justify their voting against Obama in a general election [should Obama get that far] and doing it against their interest is business as usual [those S. Boston toughs had, after all, an antecedant in the Scotch-Irish of the South who, again, as I never fail to point out here and elsewhere, voted/agitated against schools for their children and roads to get to them and the marketplace, in the wake of Reconstruction, if it meant having those children go to school with "negras."

Their latter-day counterparts, many from traditional chauvinistic households, would risk continual war, a draft, more regressive policies leading to Max Headroom rat-dining in abandoned parking lots and a woman/over the hill, possibly traumatised war hero as leader of the free world if it mean't keeping that "negra" out of the White House.

I suspect that at some point most Senators have been invited there.

Hillary's been a regular there since 1993. Obama's been there. Maybe if Joan Walsh wants to get to the bottom of God's messengers in this race then she'll cover it. I suspect that because Coe preaches to the powerful and so many of her choir members are misogynist, anti-labor Republicans that Joan is steering away from this.

But if you want to smear Obama with attending a service or prayer group led by Coe, just remember that in 1998 on the day that he was impeached that Weather Underground pardoning President and his wife had Reverend Wright to the White House for one of those national forgiveness thingies.

So the score is 2-2 by your terms, except that Walsh hasn't sniffed Hillary's prayer shawl. Obeisance is not a flattering pose for a journalist.
