"Olbermann did him one better, insisting that ending Clinton's campaign requires finding a strong Democratic leader "who can take her into a room, and only he comes out." I know and like and have worked with Keith Olbermann, but that just sounded ... wrong."
Joan, where are your instincts? You know and like KO but...? That was not just "wrong" it was outrageous. OUTRAGEOUS.
What if he had said something like, someone needs to take Obama out behind the shed and lynch him.
Or what if he had said something like, someone needs to take John Kerry out behind the garage and swiftboat him.
Just my guess, but I doubt if you would be sitting around wondering too much about how to feel about it. You would be OUTRAGED. And I doubt if after that you would still "like" Keith Olbermann very much.
Maybe it's time to stop wondering about sexism and racism and so forth and just look at humanitarian values per se. Here is a prominant tv personality/ pundit promoting violence against a former first lady and present national candidate, and all you can say is "that sounds... wrong"?? Give me a break.
