You do realuize that when you write like this YOU sound like the nut job.
It's terribly comforting to know that a Clinton supporter (I think), has only racial jibes and patently false statements about Obama to throw back. Now if you had a legitimate argument it would be different. Then again, if you had a legitimate argument, you probably would have made it instead of resorting to name-calling and lying.

35000
I thought it would be reasonable for a Salon writer to headline the remarkable turnout for Barak at independence park but no it only appears in the wire service list.
Cannot someone with the gift of words try to capture what is this phenomenon? Without his flag pin he draws 35000 souls sick of jingo politics? Does Salon need to give equal time to crap?
It's embarrassing that I am beginning to rely on drudge for balance.

Newsweek Says...
"Despite her campaign's relentless attacks on Barack Obama's qualifications and electability, Hillary Clinton has lost a lot of ground with Democratic voters nationwide going into Tuesday's critical primary in Pennsylvania, a new NEWSWEEK poll shows.
The survey of 1,209 registered voters found that Obama now leads Clinton by nearly 20 points, or 54 percent to 35 percent, among registered Democrats and those who lean Democratic nationwide. The previous Newsweek poll, conducted in March after Clinton's big primary wins in Ohio and Texas, showed the two Democrats locked in a statistical tie (45 percent for Obama to 44 percent for Clinton). The new poll puts Obama ahead among women as well as men, and voters aged 60 and older as well as younger voters. (For the complete poll data, click here).
One of the more devastating results for Clinton was that a majority of all registered voters now see her as dishonest and untrustworthy. According to the poll, just four in 10 (41 percent) registered voters view the New York senator as honest and trustworthy, while 51 percent think the opposite. This compares with solid majorities of voters who see Obama and McCain as honest and trustworthy (both polled 61 percent). "

Question: When will Joan Walsh and Salon discuss the FACT that Hillary Clinton is turning off the people that she NEEDS to vote for her? Or as others have stated, is Clinton really just trying to toss the Dems under the bus this year so that she can run again in 4 years?
Oh, and Joan, you might also want to do a story on Clinton's vicious and dishonest attack on MoveOn. I actually joined the org just for good measure. Money to follow. I've never been so driven to work against a Democrat before. Perhaps the elder Bob Casey but not in many, many years.

We're becoming grown ups. How about you?
This analysis is truly pathetic. I agree with other comments that the better journalistic work (sans Joe Conason and Glenn Greenwald] is being done elsewhere (e.g., Huffington.com, Thom Hartmann on AAR).
First, hiding behind the opinions of others does not provide you with cover: [Like most people, I think Barack Obama stumbled.] No. In fact, most people think ABC stumbled, and stumbled badly. Please don't hide behind the opinions of others {David Brooks? I can’t think of many others}. If you have a perspective, at least defend it. Don't assume it away or assume your readers agree. I for one do not agree, btw. I thought the debate was ridiculous and pointless, and even calling it a debate is dubious.
Second, I think you seriously underestimate Obama's post-debate gambit. Many, many, people, are sick and tired of politics as usual. A 'gotcha' question here or there may be okay, but using half the debate to try to nail him? Come on. Of course he's frustrated, and so am I, damn it! People are losing their homes. Jobs are leaving our shores. Our energy policy is destroying our economy and our standing in the world is seriously impaired. And on it goes. And you think we, the informed populous, want to hear over 10 questions about Reverend Wright, and flag lapel pins, and affiliations with some one-time terrorist (which, by the way, was spoon-fed to Stephanopoulos by none other than Sean Hannity)? Get your head out of the Frisco-fog and take a look at what going on around you. We, as a people, are growing up. We are looking to invest our energy in things that matter. I suggest you join us in that process.
Third, you criticize Obama for showing his feelings (his statement that “he's frustrated” irritates you). And then, at the same time, you criticize Clinton for not being human about her sniper story. Maybe, if you think about what you wrote , you'll realize why Obama is the better candidate, why he’s ahead, and why he will win the White House. They're both smart, They're both closely-aligned on most issue. The difference: he’s comfortable in his own skin and she’s not. It’s that simple.
Finally, just as Hillary's attempt to nail Obama as an elitist back-fired, any attempt to call Hillary the "winner" of the debate, will fall on deaf ears, and ultimately fail.
I am truly disappointed with this analysis and it, along with others I've read by you, makes me think much less of Salon in the process.

Obama supporters fired UP!
As much as the media want to try and suggest the aura has gone out of Obama's camapaign, they are wrong. Yesterday in Philadelphia 35,000 people showed up to hear Obama. 1,000s more showed up at a separate speech in a plaza to hear Obama. The crowd was alive, as usual he gave a great speech and at the voices of thousands cold be heard chanting Obama, Obama Obama!!!
The debate was the worse debate to date. Not from a stand point of the candidates, but from the questions asked. I thought Hillary looked as irritated as Obama and they both had good reason to be irritated. It was not so much the "Gotcha" question but the time spent on them and they way the questions were asked. The debate moderators could have spread them though out the real issues. However, I thought Obama did well in his answers.
The aura is not off. Obam continues to rise in the polls. Hillayr may win in PA, but Obama will fullfill his goal and keep her victory under double digits. I predict: Hillary 53 Obama 47. Even if she wins, as usual, Obama will get more pledged delegates because he will win in high population areas. If Hillary wins PA my question is will she pull he stunt she did in OH with the "convention style" balloon drop... Get out the barf bags.
