Don't blame San Francisco for Obama's "Bittergate"

Candidates pander to wealthy donors in every city, not just mine!

Shorter Xrandadu Hutman

Hutman doesn't have a single statement by Obama indicating that he is a feminist. Not one.

Hutman, I never said anything about your own particular feminism. You have never expanded upon it under the Hutman name, but if you have ever used the words "victim feminist" with your lip curled, you are part of the problem. Libertarian feminism is not feminism. If you want to disavow libertarian feminism despite your libertarian-leanings, then I have no problem with you.

Also, Hutman

Michelle Obama is not running for president.

AKASmith

You are the most despicable racist I have encountered ever. You are a veritable bubble of rotting gas that spews hateful reductionist blather on sex and race. In short AKA, you are not just stupid but you are completely ignorant and crazed. You really need to take your meds. I remember a month or so ago when people on Salon were really worried about your mental health when you went off the deep end. Ignatius even tried to make you understand that your posts were becoming pathetically pathological.

Every child should have all sorts of role models you silly ass. Are you raising another generation of racists? I sure hope that no child would have a mother like you. What are you implying? There are a lot of white kids who look up to Oprah. Would you deny them that right? There are lots of black kids who have white teachers and white accomplished people as their role models. I consider many white folk who have influenced my life and many people of other color as well. I do not limit my world view restricted to my gender or my race.

You are completely off your topper AKA. Ignoring people who do not agree with you and calling them names does not protect you from charges of racism and downright bigotry. Grow up.

WOW. Your digging your hole deeper smith. blame me for it. I'll take that blame and hate for you. I am a christian. You can blame my for your racism.

"Little black girls need female black role models who they can admire, like Oprah.

Little would be comedians may admire Chris Rock -- because he is a very funny guy.

It is perfectly valid for women to say that they would like a first woman president as a role model for theire daughters.

It is perfectly valid for black people to say that they would like Obama as a role model for their children because he is black.

I was simply telling rufus that if he need white people as role models for his children, there are plenty of white people with power. Why do white boys need role models when there are white men represented in almost every conceivable category.

No, Obama is not a role model for white children in that respect. He is black. He says he is black. However, I think he would be a pretty great role model for biracial children.

A role model is merely a person who allows children who are like him to see that they can succeed.

Madam, you are a racist!

Racism vs. Sexism

The problem is proof. Because sexism is often overt, it is easy to find language proofs of sexism. Racism is more covert. Reaching for nonsense like Senator Clinton saying she admired what LBJ did for the Civil Rights Act does not constitute proof of anything. Clinton did not use a single word that insulted MLK.

When you have some example of someone calling a black person a nigger here -- the way that people at Salon have called women cunts -- then you will have a case of overt racism.

I have never said sexism is worse than racism. Not once. However, I have said that the issue of sexism is one of my particular priorities -- along with the disenfranchisement of older people and the working class and the disabled by the caucus system, and children's rights, and the sexual victimization of people in matters of rape, the sexual abuse of children, and the treatment and mistreatment of the disabled, especially those with mental illness.

BTW, patronizing people with a mental illness is displaying a prejudice.

Live webcast of PA debate?

Hey, pardon the interruption, but do any of you bright pennies know where I can view a live webast of the PA debate? I'm on the elitist Left Coast and the debate is 8 PM PST here locally, even though its on now EST. I don't want the pundits interpreting it for me, so anyone know where I can stream this? I can't wait 3 hours to see Obama bring Her Majesty down to Chinatown. Of course Salon will proclaim it a massive HRC victory, but I want to see it for my own self.

Madam Fauntleroy is a snob and a zenophobe

Her name says quite a lot as her brother, the little Lord, is a namby-pamby dressed in velvet with a lace fichu around his neck, over which his fair ringlets tumble winsomely. Her refernce to "biddies" shows contempt for the true Bridgets, the daughters of Erin, the hoi-polloi who don't call themselves Madam. The foray into discussing hair colour (or the have been lack of it), also seized upon by Lord Hutman when expostulating about Joan Walsh's hair, suggests subliminal envy. You are both bald and your desperate search for a shock of hair, through lotions and potions, has led you, as a last resort, to wearing some shocking wigs. Madam, I think yours is askew at the moment from persistently leaning over the keyboard. Your devotion to the Baroque one is heart-warming. Not that I'm suggesting for one moment that you're tipsy, but Angostura Bitters is great for a hangover and settling the stomach. The transition from Madam Defarge to Madam Fauntleroy suggests that old film "The Two Faces of Eve" and the process must be unsettling. I hope the wigs aren't made from the hair of poor young girls in Indian villages to be sold to the elites of the western world. Perish the thought!

no. That is not what a role model is. a role model has nothing to do with anyone's race. Like this primary shouldn't have. you better hope joan bans me, cause you just lost all credibility today, aka. And I'm going to use it.

don't worry. I'm sure joan will protect her bobble heads, and ban me. :) Without her bobble heads who will post 50 times agreeing with her ("your so right joan, I don;t know why these mean angry obama supporters do this. wa wa wa) Women protecting women. Much like the gop protects itself. No accountability or credibility destroyed the gop. I will not let you bring the democratic party down to their level. Burning the candle at both ends. Republcain sabtuers.

this is bigger than race an gender. In fact both issues have zero to do with this election. Beware those who say it does.
