Don't blame San Francisco for Obama's "Bittergate"

Candidates pander to wealthy donors in every city, not just mine!

@luansos

Even though it very well might not be possible for Joan to pick back up the specific conversation she started here with me (my asking her if there is evidence that Barack's awful supporters are more in number or demonstrate a significantly different type of awfulness),

I'm hoping that we see her disire to "think about it" reflected in her future comments. I don't need her to agree with me. I guess I asked Joan for what I needed: reasons based on evidence. I'm not stupid, I do understand that in cultural/political discourse we can't have the type of evidence we get in chemstry. But, BUT because Joan is obviously spending time and ideas on the significance of her assumption that awful Hillary supporters are somehow less significant in this race, I think we need some type of evidence that Joan, at least, considers significant.

My last set of questions to Joan (which I hope she can find)were asking her to take for grantedthat Obama has a higher percentage of awful sopporters and then tell us what that means about his presidency and how we know it is a reasonable link. I'm not as interested in talking about how negative associations play out strategically because then we also need to dig up all the negative perceptions of Hillary; unlike many people here, I happen to believe that Joan is pefectly aware of how negatively Hillary can be viewed and I don't think Joan chalks it all up to sexism. That is why I am most interested in Joan's ideas about the possible link between Obama's worst supporters and the way he would govern. It's obviously selfish, but that is the kind of conversation that I think Joan's latest blogs beg.

At this point I'm refusing to accept that Joan is just reacting to all the bile she gets here in the comments. A cursoy glance at other blogs and websites quickly reveals what happens if you tell large groups of Hillary supporters (on the internet)that you have serious doubts about her abilities or character. Personally, I don't think even the worst Hillary supporters shed light on how she would function as president.

The Notorious W.E.S.

"You Mean To Tell To Me

Superman Obama is going to lose to a dishonest, untrustworthy witch in Pennsylvania? That doesn't inspire much confidence in the general."

-- The Notorious W.E.S.

Let's wait and see what PA does next Tuesday. But remember, Gore and Kerry also lost to a dishonest, untrustworthy bastardo in the GE. That did not inspire much confidence either, did it?

I Concur

With your Kerry-Obama comparison.

The Notorious W.E.S.

Now you are trying to spin again, that only Hillary can win, comparing Obama to Kerry. Good try WES. You are a master at self deception. But hey, you will still vote for a Democrat in the GE and that's all that matters.

sorry for fighting the republcains all these years Carol Richards

sorry about that. But somebody had to. While clinton pelosi di fi reid and other "moderates" were doing nothing some people fought and saved this counrty for following fox and bush down teh rabbit hole to our nations destrouction.

So sorry about that. To clinton supporters answer this, I f you want real dialogue.

Where would we be if no one stood up to bush and the gop? What if everyone bowed down like you moderates did? Where would we be if no one stood up? Nazi germany? World war 3? Where would we be withou tus fihgitng for this great nation, while you did nothing.

Anwser that, Carol Richards, then you can mock bash and attack me, obama and his supporters all day freely. What were you doing while bush and the gop where destroying america? Wher eyou uying their argeuemtns or looking at it is an "opposition" party, like the gop would do to us?

you can blame us all day gop .You are to blame. No amounting of pointing the finger will change the past. Take responsibvlity for your past actions gop, clinton's included, say sorry, take responsibility and lets move forward. Liek fox rush hannity o'lilely you refuse to admit mistakes. Stubborn old people ;). Say sorry. Stop the sabtage and move forward. As one nation. Or continue to divide and conquer. Continue the lie spin and discreidt. But don't expect anyone to feel sorry fo ryou. You made your beds. To not force you to sleep in it does you no favors, as you will never change in that case.

Reps. David Price and Mel Watt — announced their endorsement of Barack Obama

Two superdelegates — Reps. David Price and Mel Watt — announced their endorsement of Barack Obama on a conference call in advance of the White House hopeful’s visit to the state tomorrow. Watt had previously backed John Edwards.

Obama now has received endorsements from six North Carolina superdelegates, including party vice chair Dannie Montgomery, Rep. G.K. Butterfield, former Democratic Party director Everett Ward, and former Watt staffer Joyce Brayboy, a lobbyist.

Hillary Clinton has the backing of superdelegate Susan Burgess, a Charlotte city councilwoman

@rufus11

I'm voting for Obama, rufus11. Big time. Did I bash you? If so, I'm sorry but I have memory of saying something mean about or to you.

I'm trying to figure out what your recommendation means that we move forward together as "one nation". Do you mean that you are ready to move forward with people who support Bush? I can't stand what that guy has done and I have actively worked to mitigate it in my little ways, but I am ready to work with him or any of his supporters. That goes for Clinton as well. I happen to not really care for her politics and I have reasons why I'd really prefer Obama having his shot. However, that said, I hardly think Obama (or any president) can do all that much. But it does matter, nonetheless. That's why I try my best to have reasonable conversations with people who disagree with me.

I find that conversations tend to fall apart the moment one person decides that the other is an example of what's wrong with this country. Maybe because this is cyberspace, you and I won't do all that well talking about any of this (the fact that you feel I bashed you and that i'm confused by this points to this probability), but my hunch is that if we were sitting on my porch drinking some cold beverage, we could have a real interesting conversation in which we wouldn't need to instance each other as "The Problem". My confidence is based in my basic assumption that if somebody is sitting in front of me interested to hear my thoughts regardless of agreement, we've already "moved forward" in the way you request.

But I'm not sure what exactly you meant by move forward as one nation. And in this land of sarcasm (which I am a fan of), it might be that you were playing with terms. Anyway...
