He spoke eloquently and bravely about race but his remarks about his pastor Jeremiah Wright leave many tough questions unanswered.

    There was nothing wrong with anything Wright said. But when a black preacher castigates the government for wrong doing, he is a traitor and unpatriotic. When a white evangelist makes horrible comments about 9/11 because god is angry with feminists, gays and lesbians then he is feted at the White House. This is not a progressive website anymore. The latent prejudices have been boiling to the surface and so called Democrats sound no better than their zealot GOP counterparts when it comes to double standards in race and religion. Joan Walsh heads that brigade.
