Should Florida and Michigan vote again?

Sure it would be expensive, but the cost to the Democratic Party if superdelegates end up choosing the nominee would also be high.

The letters thread is now closed.

IS OBAMA A MUSLIM?

I do doubt how come a Muslim? will become a president of united states of America in which both Christians and jews dominated and ruled.if it happens then there may be a chance for the Muslims to enter America and create nuisance as they do in uk,eu and India.why dont the Americans think about not becoming underdogs.there may be a real disaster in economy and politics if a Muslim becomes prime personality the president of united states of America.

I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt because you sound like English is not your first language.

But Obama is not a Muslim. He's a Christian. And in this country we don't decide someone's religion on the basis of their skin color or ethnic background or name. Freedom of Religion is the first amendment to our Constitution. It is a deeply important freedom. There is nothing wrong with being a Muslim. We have a man who is of the Muslim faith in our Congress, serving in government. But Obama has been attending a Christian church for more than twenty years. He is a Christian.

Does that answer your question?

This is the dream ticket that the media has been talking up, but the question remains if hillary has it in her to play second fiddle to Obama. If hillary is amenable, even so, this country is quite racist and sexist, but a double whammy is probably what this country needs.

I always harken back to who benefited the most from affirmative action in the workplace. It has almost always been white women. Yes. Some minority men and women have also benefitted but when I look across the corporate culture at the middle and top level management stratas, we have white men overwhelmingly, followed by white women and then a smattering of minority men and women.

The race between Obama and hillary is beginning to look this way.

NO WAY!

ANd let me tell you why.

Well first of all why should the voters of FL have to get up and spend another day going out to vote when they ALREADY HAVE?! THEY KNOW WHO THEY WANT. I think it would UNFAIR to the people to have to go out and vote because someone had a problem with the date. Besides, if it is not a primary, why should a certain someone receive the benefit of a caucus when clearly they raid those voting centers which are FEW and FAR in between!

If i were a citizen of FL I WOULD SUE! You can not infringe upon peoples constitutional right to vote and BE COUNTED regardless of reason. One that was kinda dumb to begin with.

AT BEST Michigan MAY be a do over and thats because someone was silly enough to take their name off the ballot when clearly the SMARTER person left their name on the ballot. Either way, THERE IS NO WAY FOR ANY REASON that a person should not be counted because of a decision they did not make. That is a very OUTRAGEOUS imposition on the American people.

If we are truly to have a TRUE democratic nominee, then EVERY DEMOCRAT WHO VOTES SHOULD BE COUNTED.

END OF STORY.

P.S.

ID LOVE TO BE LAWYER IN EITHER STATE RIGHT NOW.

See this is what we have to deal with.

The functionally retarded like ambani007 above. Isn't it ironic how Hillary Rove Clinton encourages this kind of venemous idiocy while she herself was the victim of this same brownshit nonsense not too long ago.

Why is Clinton suddenly talking about Fl and Mich democratic voters??

It's soooo obvious that the Clinton campaign will throw everything to try to keep this race going. Funny, this issue really has gained traction today when Clinton survived her must-win primaries yesterday. Why? She is banking on, not necessarily getting enough delegates to overcome Obama, but she is hoping to win these 2 major states to further burnish her contention that she is the candidate of choice because she can win in the "bellwether" states. Mathematically she will not overtake Obama with the remaining states, even if Mich or Fl gets to re-vote and she manages to win them, but by having another shot at Mich and Fl and doing respectly, she hopes to be more convincing with those sitting on the fence Superdelegates.

Down deep I agree that it is only fair to allow FL and Mich voters a voice, but Clinton's campaign doesn't really care about the voters in these 2 states, it's only because they NEED them to keep their pathetic campaign limping forward that this is even a issue being raised!

Doloresflower, I'm with you.

It's funny: I used to say to people "No way," when asked about a combined ticket. I thought I was so sophisticated and they didn't know anything--that it was some kind of kid's pipe dream, that those of us who had a clue understood that she would NEVER be his VP b/c it was beneath her (age and experience) and that he would NEVER agree to be her VP b/c it would really mean being 3rd after Bill and who would want to get involved in that. Not to mention they really are the same on issues, neither has the kind of foreign policy gravitas that a Biden-type could add, and neither is from the South.

But guess what? Today I found myself seriously contemplating the combined ticket as perhaps the only solution that could keep the party together. If salon is a microcosm of the rest of the Democratic world, god help us! (by putting them on the same ticket).

should florida and michigan vote again

It would cost millions to have florida vote again. The original vote should count as the officials never asked the voters if we should do the primary early. they just went ahead and did it anyway without our permission. why persecute the people who voted when we had no choice. thank you

There were no Primaries in MI and FL

Since it was absolutely determined in advance by Party Leadership, and agreed to by the Candidates, that the Primaries would not count in MI and FL, there were no Primaries in the first place. That was well known by everyone I know in MI and FL. Those votes cannot count. To count them NOW is simply unfair at best and cheating at worst. This is a Primary, not an election. The rest of the states can decide the candidate.

The Superdelegates and all pledged delegates need to stand up and announce they will follow party rules. Do your jobs!

This is a very serious situation and it angers me that HRC announced she wants to take the invalid votes. I am not alone in this.

If we NEED to pander to MI and FL it should be a caucus with only half the delegates assigned, although I think Florida's ability to hold a caucus is very questionable. It could be entertaining in a perverse way.
