Let's also not forget that Obama broke an agreement between he and Hillary not to campaign in Florida. That's even more reason to seat the delegates in Florida anyway.
Of course! You don't leave out so many voters if you want to win in November. The party can't afford to alienate voters in those two states because they are not the guity ones. If any one has to take responsibilities, it should be the states' party officials and the national one as well. This should never have happened in the first place.
Democrats better have their act together, otherwise the golden opportunity of unseating the republican president will vaporize in November!
NO! Florida and Michigan should not vote again. I agree with hotrod. The rules of the game were established last year. The time to disagree with and protest the rules was then, not now. I also have to agree with another responder. I have seen nothing in Hillary Clinton's campaign that leads me to believe that she is concerned about the best interests of the party. I truly believe even if she had lost royally yesterday, she would have stayed in the game because she wants to be President so badly--no matter what. She probably wanted to be President when Bill was President--and most likely ran things behind the scenes (let's be honest).
I have been concerned for quite some time where the dueling and duking is leading us--and that's nowhere but party division. After the mudslinging this past week (Obama's glass jaw or not), I would have a very difficult time supporting Clinton even if she were to become the Democratic nominee. Her behavior during this campaign--strong one minute, in tears the next, peaceful and harmonious one minute and sharping her claws and going on the attack the next--is the type of female up-and-down behavior that will give Republicans amno to crucify her and raise the question of how she can represent America as a strong steady leader that you can rely on. On the other hand, quite honestly again, I have to admire her chutzpuh and nerve. If there were anyone (or any couple) in the United States that should NOT be doing any mudslinging about past friends, relationships or political issues, the Clintons would be at the top of the list. In fact, given some of their issues, she should be running in the other direction when the suggestion of mudslinging and dirty laundry topics come up.
Somebody needs to give and soon--and I'm not sure it should be Obama. He has the newness and fresh approach that makes past boo-boos hard to identify and attack, he has managed to excite young voters (what happens to them if he loses? voter apathy?), and he has managed to woo independents and dissatified Republicans. It's time to apply some common sense to what's shaping up to be the Democratic debacle. By the way, I'm sure John McCain is watching everything from the sidelines taking copious notes.
I don't think FL & MI should vote again. The party leaders in those states who decided to go against the DNC need to take the blame for disenfranchising the voters of those states of their right to vote. I think it is too late in the process to backtrack and have a redo. I don't pretend to be a political guru or anything I feel that if there was an issue or an argument to be made for having Primary do overs in these two states that issue should have been addressed and resolved before they were held. I think that if you go back and redo the elections you open the door to many smaller frivolous arguments. If neccessary let the Super Delegates do the will of the people, that is what they are there for right?

There's Alot Going On About The Other Republican Candidates On The Radio Stations About Mike Huckabee And John McCain That They Paid Republican's To Vote For Hilary Because They Don't Like Obama And They Don't Want To See Him Win And She Lost 11 Times In A Row Now Why All Of A Sudden Have She Gotten A Larger Qaunity Of Votes Because Their Cheating And That's Rudely Out Of Control And Wrong I Have Faith In (Barack Obama) I Know Were Going To Stand Our Ground And Win So I Think It's Only Fair They Revote Because She Have Throwed Him Under The Bus Alot Of Times Just By Using Words And Not One Time Have He Thrown Anyone He's Competing With Under The Bus So Let's Make This Revote Happen. =)
The Clintons will try to change the rules to suit their selfish goals. The most fair choice: re-vote!
Fact is, if the Florida delegates are reinstated, it will be seen as a huge slap in the face by Black Floridians who were told not to vote because it wouldn't count, only to be told later that they were suckers for falling for that old trick.
The perception will certainly spread to the Black community elsewhere. The perception will be that when White politicians find themselves losing, then they want to change the rules.
We see this all the time in Florida. We saw it with Terry Schiavo, we saw it with Elian Gonzales--politicians wanting to change the rules when they didn't like the outcome.
For that very reason, I seriously doubt that the Florida delegates will be seated. It would be electoral suicide for Hillary Clinton in the general if it leads to her victory in the Democratic primary. Less so if they are seated, but Obama wins anyway.
Looks to me like they will both have to be on the ticket, but the question remains as to who will top it and what the terms of the settlement will be.
