Should Florida and Michigan vote again?

Sure it would be expensive, but the cost to the Democratic Party if superdelegates end up choosing the nominee would also be high.

The letters thread is now closed.

thanks Smith.

Yeah, it's sort of a waste of time to argue with someone like that.

Should Florida and Michigan vote again?

Of course not. Shades of the last election are the inequities in the democrats and their backbiting and backstabbing ways. If they can't get it right the first time to suit a Clinton or a Gore, then it must be done again to suit the two faced among those two families. Al gore is now being sued over the junk science he uses in lying about global warming and I think it is time the Clintons and the Gores and the Kerry's disappear from the Democratic Party. They are the reason that a democrat is not in the white house now. Rotton candidates bring bad results. It is time for the democrats to dump the likes of "these" people and those like Nancy Pelosi and put forth viable ethical moral candidates for once. Maybe then we would not be laughing so hard all the time and the country could get on with real business.

@ dataguyx

If this were a black and white movie, now would be the place where someone slaps you and tells you to stop having hysterics -- or else shoves a grapefruit in your face.

You probably won't get the cultural reference, just as you don't understand why Hillary and Bill having lots of money does not mean that they are dirty. I explained to you before about the $8 million dollar book advance. You do know that Bill gets a huge speaking fee, just as Bush will when he gets out of office. All former presidents get huge speaking fees. So what?

No forget that I said, "So what?" I am not going to respond to you again and no one else should either.

@ Dataguy and the Tax Returns

Your insistence on tax returns is a talking point from the Obama campaign. Enough. We get your (I mean the campaign's) point.

"Yeah, it's sort of a waste of time to argue with someone like that."

Only I ignored my own advice! :D

I couldn't resist getting in an old Cagney movie reference. One of the great sexist moments in cinema.

HELL NO!!

Sorry, but Florida and Michigan didn't follow the rules. Why should the Dems now back-track and upset voters. Yea, it's unfortunate that Flordia and Michigan votes won't be counted, but come on! As if the Dems need more reasons to "piss-off" Clinton and Obama supporters. Whom ever wins the most states and has the most delegates should be the nominee and that's it! Let's be realistic bloggers!

disenfranchised voters

Why not just count the votes in the 4 counties of Florida that FatAl and his 3000 lawyers wanted in the 2000 election? If that was fair in 2000 surely it is fair in 2008.

silly hillary

Having had voted democratic for many years, if Hillary won't step aside and let Obama have the lead, I may just vote republican. Hillary indicated "clearly Ohio voters spoke and want me" .... What's she forgetting is that the rest of us haven't!! And it's no wonder women don't find her trustworthy.

Who shows up in the South and suddenly has a southern accent when speaking in Alabama?

I'm for Obama 100%. He needs to be at the TOP of the ticket!!

Florida - Michigan FOR HRClinton

It is election year...........and Florida and Michigan are part of the United States, where american people deserved to vote for their candidates. AND THEY DID.....THEY VOTED FOR HILLARY CLINTON. What's the difference of Florida & Michigan with the other 50 U.S. states......nothing. Whichever U.S. states americans reside, and they chose to vote for their candidates, their votes must be respected and accounted for. There is no such repeat election for the same candidates. Wake up U.S.A!

GIVE those votes to the winner...Hillary Clinton!

She deserved them and the people of Florida & Michigan voted for her. This has nothing to do whether you are a woman candidate or black candidate.....whoever Florida & Michigan voted for...is all what matters.

U.S.A will be laughed at by other countries worldwide because of its election process. This is not a rocket science........

Give the votes to the candidate who the people voted for. That's as simple as that!!!

Thank you.

Florida and Michigan Should Stand

It looks as if the decision will go to the Convention anyway. What will the two states do there? I don't know what the rule is - oh, I mean the custom? How can states be given a second chance to vote now? It's later in the process -- you can't go back in time and recreate the voters' wishes then, and you can't guarantee they will vote the same as they did; some candidates are no longer on the ballot! I say let the delegates vote at the convention; let the candidates, and the party, reap the consequences of their decisions. Above all, do not cost the taxpayers anything. If they really wanted to make it fair, they'd have had all states vote in June, giving all candidates from January to that date time to circulate to each state they deem important to their campaign, and not give any further advantage to an unknown, as the current system is ostensibly designed to prevent. There are probably lots of other ways to solve the problem too. I know starting in Iowa is a tradition, then NH. But they didn't mind changing the primary dates and circumventing that preciously held tradition, did they? They obviously thought it would help them! I'm glad they got hoisted on their own petard!

Vote again in FL - Heck NO

Heck no - we already voted down here in FL. What should happen is the most votes Clinton 700,000 + gets 70% of the delegates, and the lesser votes 400,000 + for Obama gets 30% of the delegates.

Besides unless the Democratic National Party is paying the 10 Million plus it would take to run another primary - no fricking point. From - nOne fairly irritated Democrat in Florida.

Flarida & Michigan revote

I think that either Hillary should do what she agreed to do and not count those two states, or there should be a revote there. If Hillary does claim those two states I think that would do major harm to the democratic party. If Superdelegates should end up deciding the winner, they should coincide with whomever has won the popular vote. I would be ashamed to call myself a democrat if our party cannot do the bidding of the people for whom these two delegates should represent. Hillary has shown herself to be led more by a hunger for power over what is best for the democratic party and the the nation. She needs to stand back and let the people decide.
