It's just a less obvious way to degrade and insult not only Hillary but Chelsea.
First off how stupid are people who say that. Do they really think Hillary has to get Chelsea to shill for her. Let me guess you think she's a closet republican.
Eye candy? As if Chelsea isn't an intelligent woman with some real skills to offer as a person. How pathetic.
The fact that the few who justified "pimping out" someone as no big deal because it only means the above are clueless idiots.
It is NOT good to refer to someone like that, it assumes everyone is a fraud and a liar.
And in the case of Chelsea and her Mom, I really doubt if she is being "used" in any way whatsoever.
To describe her as being "used" to "front" is absurd. She's old enough to say no, and if the Guliani children are any indication, she'd say it.
And if that is all it is, it is just more hard proof of the idiotic sexist attitude at MSNBC, that always paints any motivation a woman may have as small minded, manipulative nonsense.

auntie cairo, you make many valid points that I agree with. However, I have disliked the tone that MSNBC has taken toward women--not only Clinton but women in general, and maybe its a good time to make our criticism heard.
I don't think this has to be exclusively about Hillary. Just about a fair playing field for a serious candidate. They use this quote as an example of the treatment we're talking about:
"MSNBC host Tucker Carlson said of Sen. Clinton: "[T]here's just something about her that feels castrating, overbearing, and scary." Further, Carlson has said of Clinton: "I have often said, when she comes on television, I involuntarily cross my legs."
While there is definitely a place for editorializing and joking around, the frat boy atmosphere selling itself as serious journalism is offensive to me.
Anyway, I signed on to it, and I feel good about it. I'm still not supporting Clinton unless she wins the primaries fairly and squarely--and this doesn't sway me toward her or against her as a candidate.
I hope that the rest of you will consider signing it too. It takes about two seconds and never mentions any names, just states that we are against mysogynistic atmosphere.

My student loans are hundreds of dollars a month--for the next 20-30 years. That's typical. You consolidate and they give you, usually, a 30-year, 20-year, or 10-year term.

Joan you are exactly correct about MSNBC. I have sent numerous emails to the editor as it is hard to find a way to send to Matthews, Russert, etc. Chris Matthews is many times worse than Shuster and he is doing his very best to get Obama elected. You will also note when a newsperson is talking with Obama, they never find out much about him. He blasts off on how he was so against the war; then why does he keep voting to fund it? I have mostly stopped watching MSNBC except for Keith Olberman. Matthews and all have done nothing but TRASH Senator Clinton and they should be taken off the air. The media is working hardest to elect Obama and the cross over republicans are doing that in order to help McCain win. What an underhanded network they are to embrace people who trash Senator Clinton or any other woman. Should Obama get the nomination; he will never ever get my vote; I am sick of "on the job training for a President," we need experience.

Would clinton have won new hampshire without matthews? Think long and hard on that issue. It's like fox. They pretend to hate and attack clinton all day everyday. Then fox has a fundraiser for her. Most americans see that msnbc is attacking her on gender before each election. Why? Does the media pull have sway over liberals? Nope. That is a republcain mindset. Without msnbc what would clinton and her gop supporters say? Talk about obama's race? Her gender? What else does she got other than the victim card? You clinton supporters should be singing msnbc's praises. Without them she would be out of the race by now.
Nice try gop. Your tactics do not work with the left. We do not march in lock-step like the gop. We do not allow the media to do our thinking for us, like they do. At least walsh and matthews show their face. the youth and people paying attention see what's going on. We are smarter than our fathers and grandfaters. We will not allow propoganda outfits take our freedom, like the gop did.
