@ Jim...PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU POST CORRECTLY
JIM:
I DID NOT WRITE WHAT YOU ARE CALLING NUTS. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN REPLYING TO COMMENTS. I WOULD NEVER DEFINE "PIMPING OUT" AS THE THAT WRITER DID BELOW, NOR DID I AGREE WITH SUCH A REASON OF DEFINITION.
Jesus this is nuts!
@ncawley
Yes, but the word pimp also means "to make use of often dishonorably for one's own gain or benefit", which is what Shuster meant. He used a word correctly as it is defined in the dictionary. You (and others) have taken the negative connotation and ran with it.
How is "dishonorably" not "negative"
? As for the "Chelsea isn't available to the press" nonsense: Are you people really starved for "that's why my mom would make a fantastic president!" boilerplate? Did you gain great insights from insights with the Romney lads? This is the most absurd pseudo-controversy I've ever heard of. I'm an Obama supporter, but do any of you really believes the fate of the Republic is jeopardized because Chelsea Clinton called Whoopi Goldberg on the phone? Silly? Absolutely. "Dishonorable"? Please, people, get a freakin' grip!

Lobbying super dleegates
I wrote a letter to my Senator, Barbara Boxer sking for her support for Obaam. I got an e-mail back from Senator Boxer, saying she could not comment on the issue as as it was against the Senate ethics rules.

MSNBC' s Clinton theme
Your analysis of Shuster and MSNBC fobs off the comment in question as unfortunate word usage. But, after watching the network for years there is a sexual theme regarding the coverage of the Clintons. The personalities on the network are trying to furtively remind viewers of Clinton's past sexual situations.
I heard Chris Matthews state that it is important to know how many nights the Clintons slept together over the past year and if they sleep in same bedroom. Matthews also asks about what affairs Clinton might have had since he left the White House. Scarborough took Hillary's comment about cleaning up after Bush to mean something about morality instead of policy.
Without directly stating their intentions, MSNBC continually tries to say remember Monica and impeachment. It appears that MSNBC is still trying the Clintons for something they have already acquited from. However, many of are sick of the allusions to Ken Starr and that whole mess and just want out of Iraq, health care and civil liberties protected.

@ Jim / ncawley
Hey my original point was that it's done, he's apologized and he was suspended- oh, and by the way, the word he used has a meaning that totally applies- why isn't this over?
"Dishonorable" is negative, but it refers to the Clinton campaign, not Chelsea, and is a legitimate question. My point was that he was in no way implying the Chelsea is a whore.
Anybody remember when a guy in local government somewhere got raked over the coals when he used the word niggardly correctly? People just could not wrap their heads around the fact that it had a completely different meaning from what is sounded like it meant.

Sorry, ncawley
Dear Fellow Minutiae-Obsessed PoliticalJunkies
It was bluekat, not ncawley, who asserted that it is an indisputable fact that David Shuster was correct in his assertion that there is someting "dishonorable" about Chelsea Clinton making a phone call to Joy Behar, and timhowe who seems to think that Chelsea Clinton's warm fuzzies about the time she and her mom made brownies in the Arkansas governor's mansion will give us insight into whether Clinton or Obama have the better, more workable plan for health care.
All best,
Jim
Exasperated Obama cultist defending the dishonorable daughter-pimp Hillary Clinton.

@ DetroitMed
Very well said, I have been thinking this myself for a good long while now. I hope the voters are not going to be suckered again with a talented but inexperienced charismatic pol.
Obama may be the greatest thing since sliced bread....but we know far to little about what he will actually do as opposed to what he says he will do. And before you all pile on - yes- I have been to his web site and read his "position statements". Very inspireing to me with some good ideas.
But if you guys think the GOP will give him the opportunity to "reach across party lines" have us all hold hands while we pull together as brothers and sisters across the land you are drinking the MSNBC kool-aid.

Shuster
He should be sent to Gitmo and water tortured. This society has become far too tolerant and forgiving.

Joan's "surprising" interpretation of Hillary's letter.
On whether or not Hillary's strongly-worded letter to MSNBC was meant to get David Shuster fired, Joan tells us:
"...others also read her [Hillary's] letter that way [to get Shuster fired], though I didn't..."
Surprise, surprise. Joan takes Hillary's side again. Who could have seen that one coming?
It will be interesting to see if Joan stays by Hillary's side when the Billary machine goes into the convention behind Obama in delegate votes, then uses backroom tactics with superdelegates to steal the nomination away from him. Because THAT"S when everyone will smell the overwhelming stench of Billary in full.

@LeslieRL
(1) Your portrayal of the MSNBC gestalt (giggly-mean white men pundits and never enough pedophiles and prison inmates!) is witty, whip-smart and dead-on.
(2) Your solution is elegant.
(3) I have actually been very impressed with the Beeb's coverage of election 08, and seek it out now. So: not so sad. Salon readers should consider your offhand BBC reference as an endorsement and enrich themselves.
Good on ya!

@ANONYMOUS @2:36: MAYBE IT'S THE IGNORANCE OF MAN....
Maybe you should open your eyes and not put blame where the blame was not due.
David Shuster is the only person who talks out of his mouth. He is the only one to blame.
Senator Clinton didn't call Shuster and say "Hey buddy, can you do me a favor and call me a pimp tonight and my daughter a whore?"
You people who write in just to get your negative remarks about Senator Clinton posted are just like David Shuster.
I really cannot wait for this campaign to be over with. I am drained from all the negative comments and have never seen so much hate from a group of supporters who are supposed to be 'uniters'.
I just pray that Senator Clinton gets the nomination, because I am so done with the hate from a group who call themselves democrats.
