  • MSNBC calls Chelsea Clinton a Prostitute!

"Anonymust" quoted MSNBC "analyst" as saying -

SHUSTER: But doesn't it seem like Chelsea's sort of being pimped out in some weird sort of way?

The cheap vulgarisms that creep into coverage (including Joan's funny but tasteless reference to Obama's media "fluffers") are getting out of hand. If Bill Clinton is looking to play attack dog in a worthy cause, let him channel the ghost of Harry Truman and challenge this punk Shuster over his referring to the Clintons' daughter as someone doing the bidding of pimps! Imagine the media uproar had someone talked about the Bush twins in this way.

  • aka smith

I will write back to your post last night. I went to bed before I read it and today I have three generations of relatives in town visiting and I must run. But I have thought about what you say and will write again soon.

also, good point about Rashomon SocsandTwigs!

  • Right on, socs

But for Hillary and Obama - it's about disliking or liking their positions. And, yes, I do HATE Hillary's tend toward hawkishness ... I don't believe she will get us out of Iraq, I think she will continue more of the same hawkish policy, which I believe is immoral and is facilitating unrest throughout the Middle East. I also don't like her position on health care mandates, which I've expressed before on this blog. I don't like her lack of straighforwardness on the torture issue.

---Remember how she jumped on Obama for wanting to use diplomacy toward Iran, calling him naive? And then not too long afterwards, it was found out that Iran discontinued its nuclear weapons program back in 2003?

  • @ ljwalker53

Thank you so much for you kind words to me. I truly respect the values you put forth in your posts and so feel grateful that you appreciate what I write. It is nice to be compared to obsidian, but the words "real feminist" really have me glowing.

  • Fortunately, the media isn't as powerful as reality

The Truth is in the Proven

In the beginning, I wasn't sure if I was going to be for Hillary or Barack. I felt I needed to evaluate them, and I did. I had been very impressed with Bill's administration, but I wanted to back whomever I thought was the strongest, most competent candidate. The debates were what really proved to me who truly is more knowledgeable and ready to govern our country at this time. And that person is Hillary.

As an American woman, I could hardly be more proud of Hillary Clinton. She the most qualified candidate running to govern our country. Sexism is more insidious than racism. If Hillary Clinton were male, she would never have been treated as she has through her career. And now, she would be more recognized as being the most knowledgeable, qualified, competent candidate. She is the one who is most qualified to help our economy. She was a consultant in Bill's White House Administration. An administration that successfully brought this country out of a recession and deficit and into surplus and some of the greatest socio-economic prosperity this country has ever seen. The Latinos remember. The older generations remember. The African-Americans did remember (until the media hype took quotes that were not racist out of context and made them racist when they truly were not - the Clintons are and have always been tremendous Civil Right's advocates, and their record is the true account of it). The Clintons do know what it takes to govern the country successfully, and they know that Hillary is truly more qualified, knowledgeable and competent than Barack at this time. The debates, where there is no script or speech, demonstrate this truth best.

A debate with McCain and Obama discussing how they are most qualified to help our economy wouldn't be very compelling, because neither of them are very qualified in regard to the economy. What you saw on Super Tuesday was that in spite of much of the media, the talking heads, the over-played grandiose endorsements of some rich celebrities, in spite of waves of fancy and fashion with the words of Obama (that someone else writes for him), there are those of us who see through all the hype, and know what's real. Hillary, her work, her abilities, her qualifications to govern our country more efficiently and effectively than anyone else running, are all very real. She is so truly dedicated and deserving of more respect. She would serve this country and our future, for the greater good, like no other at this time. Those of us who know the reality, can see through all the spin.

The Republicans are being deceptive. They want Obama to be the candidate, because they think his record is weak and more beatable. They will thoroughly exploit people's fears how he's had hardly any national experience, they'll say that he'll be too weak on defense and we'll be more vulnerable to terrorists, and that he's never been tested. And there will be many independents and centrists who feel that no matter what Barack says, they don't really know him, they won't really like how he's never been tested, they won't feel comfortable, and they'll vote with more confidence for McCain. Hillary stands up better against McCain, because she has not been "weak on defense," and she's proved in the debates just how knowledgeable she is overall, and from her time in the first Clinton Administration, that they know how to help the economy.

She won over Republican Clinton bashers in New York with her work.

There are many people who want Clinton leadership back in office because they want people who they know - know how - to fix our country for now and for our future, and get us back in excellent shape again.

  • IT SEEMS THE CLINTON PEOPLE FOUND THEIR METHOD OF VICOTRY

Same as the gop was. Whine cry and complain.
