Hillary Clinton's softer side

She can only beat Obama and Edwards by showing the person behind the 35 years of experience.

The letters thread is now closed.

The more I see, the more I like

I'm an Obama supporter, but the more I see of Hillary in this campaign the more I like her. Her speech went straight where it was intended to go: my heart.

I want to jump up and down and kiss everybody for the depth of the nominee bench this year. Both sides have candidates I can like and respect. I guess that's one good thing you can say for the f**k up that is the Bush legacy...the backlash to it has produced some of the best political movement this country has had to offer in years.

Disecting the Clintons

I'm really tired and irritated with the commonly, discrediting, disecting of Hillary Clinton's peronality. Years of watching and listenint to her, I have never had anything but admiration for her. I know their hitories from their early beginnings, and regard the Clintons as good, intellectual people who have used their talents for the good of this country.

What I see is jealousy and disdain for their influence and success, a common response from those who don't have the capacity for anything but criticism.

Obama wins frees up Black folks to be human beings and that can make America great again...

Obama wins frees up Black folks to be human beings and that can make America great again...

The opportunity to be a unencumbered by our ugly legacy in this country is truly mindblowing..

All those black parents who tell thier kids they have to be x times better than whites is no longer required..

All those black activists like me no longer have to wage an attack on fellow americans for opportunities..

It frees up white folks to let go of liberal guilt

It frees up white folks to focus on national unity

The possibilities are bringing me to tears...

How about this:

Have Bill, swear under oath, in a court of law, on a Bible, that his wife DOES have a softer side.

That should carry some weight.

Aw....

Poor Hillary. I mean, I have to admit, the last few days (that is, since the debate), I've gained a bit more respect for her. I still support John Edwards 100%, but I guess seeing a more emotional, passionate candidate makes me a bit more excited about them.

I was watching CSPAN the night of the Iowa caucus, and the precinct captain (I forget his name, but I think it was the 53rd precinct or something) said, "There isn't a dud among them." He was talking, of course, about the Democratic candidates. "That makes our job a lot easier, because no matter what we do tonight, we can't make a mistake."

That's pretty wise, I think, if there is ever room for wisdom in politics. Gave a surge of Democrat pride, I guess.

Anyway, thanks for posting the videos, Ms. Walsh!

I remain heartlessly unmoved

She appears to be 'getting emotional' because she isn't getting her way. This isn't a 'softer side.' It's passive aggressive! No, I'm sorry - this is not a good thing.

And of course, Walsh has an obvious bias! Putting out some snarky articles about Obama & dismissing Edwards almost completely - this might as well be a campaign site.

Doesn't it seem wrong to be invoking sympathy with tears? What counts for me is - first, she went along with Bush - strongly - about Iraq. Second, I don't trust her, & that's what really matters.

Also - her time as First Lady does not count as experience in my view. I don't care what policies she worked on. Is she held to account for them? Could she be fired for them?

Also, thanks to those who provided links to other sites, because this is getting tiresome.

Are you going to change your tune if she's forced to drop out of the race, or just bemoan the loss while one of the truly terrifying GOP candidates move ahead?

Not the Tears but the Words

We can emphathize or criticize -- but no one has talked about the words, personal, don't want country to fall backwards, healthcare for Children -- if this matters and mattered so much to Hillary why didn't she run in 2004. She has already said that she knows how to fight the Republican attack machine and I believe she does -- but she doesn't mean she know how to fight fair and how to fight truth -- her complaints are excuses and so are Bill's.

Listen to any of her speeches, it is all I, I, I, I, I

Listen to Obama and it is all you, us, we, UNITED States, not Blue States and Red States -- to affect change one must carry that optimism forth to get others to believe --- if you believe you can -- YOU again

not I want, I can, I, I, I, I People need to believe in each other, respect each other, work with each other. If Hillary crys it's because her timing is all off -- BUSH pushed us backwards while she watch with a closed mouth.

Softer until she starts sounding like Dick Cheney...the horror

It is a variation of "with whom would you like to share a desert island?" In the modern times, "come to the bunker with me or Obama?". Oh, please! This is a Cheney trick and it works if you prefer to hide from the truth. By the way, other than the Rose law firm records, being with Bill Clinton on a ride upward, hiding 100k in special gifts and investments, holding a seat as a democrat on the WalMart board and lording over the sorry state of Arkansas, what special experience does she bring to dealing with a world going to chaos?

USA Today Poll

Among Democrats alone, Clinton leads Obama by 5 points, 34%-29%. That's a significant narrowing from the USA TODAY poll taken in mid-May, when she led by 17 points. Among independents, Obama leads by 9 points, 31%-22%.

NO OBAMA

George Bush won twice with about 45% support in the electorate, and Obama's claims that he can win with independents is overstated. Hillary can still win, and SHE HAS THE EXPERIENCE to get things done in Washington. Obama is an outsider, will be an outsider, and will be noninfluential in Washington. He's a SLICK POLITICIAN, nothing more. He lacks the know-how and substance. He's as dangerous as George Bush in 2000, who mouthed the same language of `divides,' etc. It's a slick trick.
