The most interesting debate yet

Obama missed some big chances, while Edwards, Dodd and Biden looked their best. And why are we talking about UFOs?

The letters thread is now closed.

Face it, Joan

Your gal Hitlery (the real one) is on the ropes. She was called on her flip-flopping, doublespeak and dishonesty time and time again. By Democrats. After you liberal lemmings nominate her, she will get a real beating from the Republican Bulldozing Machine. I can't wait.

Secrecy, Civil Liberties and the Politics of Fear

Obama knocked it out of the park with his answer about how Clinton would be a continuation of Bush/Cheney secrecy and how her vote for the cynical Kyl/Lieberman Iran bill would continue to further erode civil liberties in the name of the "politics of fear." It was the only time civil liberties were mentioned in a substantive way. Or the "politics of fear" being shamelessly exploited by the GOP.

Obama did what he needed to do tonight. And Hillary looked rattled and triangulated herself silly.

Please God, let this start helping the big-money Dems understand that if they want to win, it will not be with more "business as usual attitudes."

The Clintons are national treasures but it is time to move off center stage.

Challenge Accepted

But I challenge anyone to watch this back to back with the last few Republican mixers, marked by their long, eccentric detours about dead-end Christian right fixations and waterboarding, and tell me who's most qualified to lead this country.

I accept the challenge. Here is a hint from tonight's debate:

What do I win?

You're a bore (not what Joan is).

"Water Torture" A small indication of a much bigger problem

Just when you think Bush backs down and brings someone up for nomination with a scintilla of integrity, they prove to be nothing more than another White House lackey.

e.g. Rice, Gates, Powell, Petraeus and now Mukasey et. al.

These people come in, with hopes from all of us, only to be labelled as nothing more than a puppet for the Administration.

One example I particularly like, is when Petraeus was asked if he was influenced at all, by the White House. He was adamant, and said absolutely not.

He was seen, going to the White House, for marathon sessions with a political brainwasher.

Corruptible???????????

You tell me.

I love the picture Chris Sinnard!

Go, Ron Paul! Speaking of knocking it out of the ball park, did anyone see Ron Paul on Leno tonight?

Hillary can take care of herself

I wish Joan were more interested in the ethical lapse and shoddy journalism at Salon....

A good start would be for her to create an ombudsman position.

Kucinich was right though, he saw a UFO

Kucinich didn't say he saw an "alien", he saw a UFO. A triangle did he say? Maybe he saw a TR-3B Black Triangle thing that Jeff Rense talks about. Maybe Bigfoot is the pilot. Leave it to MSNBC to throw out the debate zingers. It was about as relevant as when Matthews asked the Republicans what they would do with Bill Clinton.

I can be reasonably sure of one thing that the Democrats learned tonight. Hire more staff to make signs and shill for you so that you don't embarrass yourselves.

Poor, poor deathkitty

Does the truth make a booboo on you? Poor baby. Hitlery (the real one) is going down. It's a good thing she and bill don't live together or he would be getting the sh_t kicked out of him as Hitlery (the real one)vented her frustration about having the sh_t kicked out of her on the Dem debate tonight. I can't wait for the next one.

Good to see Obama and Edwards get their testicles back out of Hitlery's lock box

Hitlery (the real one) is black and blue tonight. Obama and Edwards are getting great feedback from their attacks on Hitlery, which means more and sharper barbs will come. Good. The public really has not seen Hitlery's infamous vicious temper. It won't take much now for Hitlery (the real one) to fly into one of her well-publicized, profanity-laced tirades live on stage.

And the real winners of tonight's Librul Dimwitocrat debate last night were ... (drum roll) .....

Ron Paul's supporters!

not all that pleasant tonight...

While the word "shrill" has been applied thousands of times to Senator Clinton, tonight it really belonged to Edwards. Some great ideas he has, and some strongly held principles, but in the debate I thought he was little better than our own resident shrill, the anklebiting Hitlery. (the fake one). Clinton was under constant and often strained attack, and Russert wanted to ensure a good fight so he kept asking the others to attack her. Did I get my channels confused; was this on Fox? Obama did well but stumbled around several times trying to get out his words; not ready for primetime, I fear. Those bad boys on the other side would eat him alive. I thought both Senator Biden and Senator Dodd were the most impressive tonight, and I dearly wish one of them could somehow become viable. Biden would make a great president and so would Chris Dodd. And yes, I'll take any of the three leaders. I just hope they don't slash each other into ribbons before the Republicans get to have at them.

Forget "Water Torture"

Just loop Hitlery's cackle and play it to Guantanamo Bay terrorists at top volume. They will break in minutes.

Millions upon millions in their campaign coffers

The Democratic candidates have millions of dollars in their campaign coffers and yet the most visible support from the people at the debate came from a group of volunteers that met through meetup.com. Seems to me like they took a risk in using the opportunity to come and show support for a Republican, and it looks like it paid off huge for them. They probably also did it on their own time and dollar. Or, I know, those Ron Paul cranks must have used their leet haxxor cumpooter skillz to make those signs appear on TV or something. Seems to me like the more likely answer is that the big bad Empire is naked.

It also makes me wonder if Ron Paul wasn't running, would those big signs be bearing someone else's name? Someone who is supposed to represent change and is resonating with the grassroots or w/e the meme is supposed to be?

I like how Dodd was sounding like Ron Paul, and he is polling even lower. The Ghoul jokes were funny but the real joke is how hard the fabrication that is Ghouls is going to be made a into a case study before any Democrat even has a chance to debate him. How much sucking up does Richardson have to do to show Clinton that he would be a good choice for VP?
