Let's face it, Gov. Palin is on the mainland as a stalking horse for McCain (who is laughing behind her back), and making a fool of herself in the process. Sen. Stevens is on trial for bribery, and will likily be convicted, and Gov. Palin's husband is babysitting in DC.
Alaska is alone (and probably glad to be there)!

Indeed, are there politicians who don't fit into this category?
Hello Camille,
This is a secret letter as I am a life-long, devoted Republican, but I will admit I read your column and have learned to respect and admire your intellect.
Please know I do not like or respect #44 (#42 was tolerable) however McCain and Obama leaves me commiserating with my Democrat friends that we're damned either way. My dilemma is the thought we as a nation are willing to give the Golden Ticket to a black Neville Chamberlain: I truly don't care if my President is black or chartreuse, as long as they stand up for and defend everything that is and has made America the best country in the planet.
Please use your resources to vet the information on the link below: maybe some is true (probably at least some is false) so tell your community what is important to know before Election Day,
With love,
Andy

Between Rich Lowry and Paglia's "my boys are saluting ya, Sarah" commentary, I think I am gonna throw up. "Nailin' Palin" will be in release on the adult video markets soon. Do us a favor, buy it, watch it over and over, and take a hiatus from writing, m'kay?
Now was that so hard? Honesty? Doesn't it feel better to freely admit how enamored you are with Palin, one of the worlds dimmest political minds?
And as you like Obama, I like you. Cagey liars are like CEO's down at the country club. They might be thieves, but at least they're just trying to get rich. And you're just trying to win, any way you can think of.
But don't be so quick to set your shallow morals aside. Persevere. Fight on. You've only got one more month to save the world (read: America). Unless of course Jesus returns. In that case, prepare to burn in hell.
That's the only thought that came to mind while reading Camille's drivel regarding Palin. Sarah Palin = smart? Clearly, Camille hasn't read much about Sarah from those up in Alaska who have had to deal with her. I expect Camille will be in for a rude awakening this Friday when the "Troopergate" report is released. I can't help but wonder what Camille will find to admire in Palin afterward. Perhaps both Palins' work in having a legitimate workers' comp claim denied?
September wants it's "Don't Underestimate Sarah Palin" meme back.
This is October. The meme is "Will Even Fox News Hire Sarah Palin After This?"
Dear Camille,
Although out political views are quite divergent, I have always read your postings and enjoyed them very much. Unlike the strident lock step voices from the left and the right, you think for yourself and do not buy into the BS from either side that cannot withstand rational analysis. Who else on the left actually defends Sarah Palin not because you agree with her, but because you take the time and trouble to see where she is coming from and what she has accomplished. Show me someone who admires someone whom they disagee with and I will respect that individual every time (and read what they have to say). Even as I write this, there is a column to the left on this website composed of prime examples of such strident outpourings. Clearly, you are very much a minority voice on this website. So my question is what are you doing here? I would think you would have been banned long ago just as you would be on something like Rush Limbaugh's site for the same reason. See an article entitled "The Dumbing down of Sarah Palin" (as opposed to the GOP) at http://www.marstonchronicles.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=81&Itemid=104 for a similar take on Sarah Palin.
Camille,
Great letters and responses on the Palin infusion to feminism and the political debate. I'm a 52 year old conservative male and not proud of all my past positions on events and that includes the more liberal years up to the mid-80's. I must admit that "feminism" in the 70's and 80's had me confused as how to approach women. I wasn't always so respectful and that landed me in some troubling situations back then. It is refreshing to read those letters to you and see that I wasn't the only one. Feminism has gone off track with respect to "choice". Thanks for helping to open some eyes on the "tolerant" left to not be so rigid and see both sides of the equation.

Can we seriously put Ms. Paglia out to pasture? For god's sake, she was boring fifteen years ago, and not to give away my age, that was when I started reading her wank, I mean work. I cannot help but think of Woody Allen in that movie line with Diane Keaton. If only the philosophers and writers that she has marred could speak up about her silliness. I wish I had the time to read the number of Google posts from what I hope and pray to god are her out of print books. By the way, how does one look up Ms. Paglia these days? Under Intellectus Neverus Mattereduss? If anyone finds the link please respond.
Most feminists from my point of view aren't feminists at all. The Palin attacks have been ridiculous but expected. Most who call themselves feminists are truly liberals or democrats who see political policy views as the gauge. I'm struck by the women who say you can't possibly be for women if you are pro-life, or support gun rights or think the Iraq war was a legitimate war. These women don't have a clue - and frankly their inability to see that women have many viewpoints, has me believing they aren't feminists at all. I have a husband who is very talented, who is currently primarily staying at home with our two boys - age 1 and 2. I am the breadwinner as they say - he brings in some money on the side, but it's an untraditional set-up, and it's different, and you know what -- it works. I happen to be a talented individual. I made/make more money than my husband. We didn't want daycare for our kids. I'm pro-life, so is my husband. I'm big on national defense, so is my husband. I think the government should stay out of most everything concerning our lives, so does my husband. We believe in America, it's a great country. The people are great, with dreams, hopes, and an independent spirit. Our boys are growing up with their dad in cargo shorts and a tee shirt, who cooks a good dinner every night (we're talking good food) and a mom who is gone at work all day, making a good living and they don't know it's uncommon. Obama and Palin will be normal to them, and isn't that nice. I identify with Sarah Palin. And when these women who claim to represent all women tear her down - I don't think they are feminists. I think they are partisans. And they should call themselves what they are. Treat her fairly - but don't act like she lets down all women. Guess what -- not all women hold your political views. Grow up, and frankly, shut up about it. She's smart, talented, and if you're weren't so small-minded you could at least acknowledge that.
