How's that for progressive feminism?
Yeah right...yet ironically in super lefty California, Cammie could wed her "Amazon warrior"! Of course getting new feminist Sarah "closet case" Palin to agree AND having to fight off potential 2nd Dude Todd...would be just TOO HOT! What a rush!
Seriously, kidding aside, Palin as a "powerful new symbols of a revived contemporary feminism"? WTF, are you kidding?
This is so silly and inane, it's crazy. Hell Cammie Pags loved Madonna for the same reason. Just goes to show a dopey, egomaniac woman columnist can be just as stupid and retarded as men with man-crushes like George Will, etc.
Now that's progress!
Whatever you're smoking Cammie, I want like 3x of that!!! Pronto!
That should be the title.
We are looking at people who would vote for Bin Laden if he declared himself a Christian and against abortion.
It seems that's all it takes to be accepted into the GOP>
Despite the fact that the only supporters left in the GOP are Racists, Neo-Cons, Gun Nuts and Jesus freaks I'm not surprised they would support a person with ties to a secession group.
Palin and her husband.

Like I said if you say your a Christian and Pro Life the GOP will support you even if you want to Secede form the United States.
So I will never underestimate the ignorance of the GOP.
It's the trait that binds them all together.
PS. Palin is far from smart. 5 colleges in 6 years tell you that.
You are absolutely right! In my defense, I tried to state my views plainly under the name readerreader, but was booed off the site. I love Salon and enjoyed my participation, but no one else seemed to share the pleasure. :)
To be as plain as I can, I love Sarah Palin (McCain, I find tolerable). I can't entirely explain it, but it shows through in everything I have written - under both names. :)
I also believe, in case you care, that Barack Obama is a decent guy. He reminds me in one limited respect of Henry Wallace, FDR's flaky VP who was dumped for Truman. Wallace's political career came into trouble based on a youthful, overly exuberant exchange of correspondence he had with some Tibetan mystics. I think Obama's associations with Ayres and Wright were similar. There is no doubt in my mind Obama was a radical. There is also no doubt he is now a "platform Democrat" and will act as one if elected. The shame, really, is for the radicals he abandoned, not for the Rotarian nation he seeks to govern.
Okay, I really do need to get over and out. I am sure I offended someone, but again, my enjoyment of this web site is my only defense. Take care Democrats, but beware of that Zogby poll this morning showing the race tightening to just 3 points! I promise you this time, I will not be posting here again.
But don't forget, people. Sarah Palin is wonderful. Bash her all you want. You won't change that truth.
"Of course Biden won on points, but TV (a visual medium) never cares about that."
TV apparently did care about that, as the every single poll shows Biden won that debate. But I forgot, you are the dumbest person in the world
I speak for several direct descendants of Abigail Becker, who you compared to Palin in your last column, when I say that Palin's fake grit, buttressed by her stupid and fascistic religiosity, is an insult to Abigail. We are all very inspired by Barack Obama and look forward to an historic and healing presidency.
As a pro-choice atheist, I would like to thank you for reminding people that feminism should not be restricted to those who answer the abortion and religion questions the "correct" way.
BTW, as a man, I do not find Sarah Palin attractive.
Vital, my arse.
What an interesting confluence of ideas, but lacking in proper prospective. President Truman signed a treaty obligating the US to protect South Vietnam, and President Eisenhower took that obligation seriously following the French surrender without a need for a major war or large American troop commitments. Eisenhower’s strength and record was sufficient to maintain a semblance of peace in South Vietnam until President Kennedy’s inauguration when parts of the world saw a weak leader and the assault on our treaty ally began. It was Kennedy’s tentativeness that ultimately forced him into committing major American resources. Yes I do see a similarity between Obama and Kennedy, but Obama lacks Kennedy’s economic understanding.
Being involved with SAC in Omaha during the 60s, I guess I missed that emergence from the Cold War and only saw Kennedy and LBJ empower the USSR.
I am not smart because I do not support Gov. Palin. And those that support Gov. Ma Palin are correct.
I just wish someone could tell me if I am still an American...
"If McCain loses this election, the future is still bright for Republicans thanks to Sarah Palin." -- JJHLH1
If you are excited that Palin is the future of your party, I feel sad for you. The GOP has devolved from one of power and relevance to apparently nothing more than a church meet and greet. And what has it gotten you?
Sorry, to burst your bubble, but the Republican Party is about to go through a Civil War for the soul of that party. The power structure has played to the extreme and religious right for too long and have done nothing but drive away moderates and independents. In case you don't know, those are the people you want to attract if you want to win.
If the Republicans want to stay relevant, they should jettison Palin and her ilk if they want to ever be in the majority in the near, much less the distant future. However, the demographic shift occurring in our country right now, might be enough to put the nail in the coffin of the Grand Old Party. I can't wait to go to the wake!
