I say - let's make this post well-known in conservative circles! Camille Paglia, no less, claims that Sarah Palin is a big, fat feminist!!! Sarah Palin is the hero of yesterdays feminists. Yes, those bra-burning, sex-loving, equal-pay demanding, work-outside-the-home, latch-key kid mothering feminazi women that conservatives love to hate, think that Palin inestimable. Where most of us see vagueness, feminists like Paglia see intelligence and insight. Where most of us see attack-dog meaness, feminists like Paglia see strength and wile. In Todd Palin, where most of us see him using SARAH'S power as a piggy-back for HIS, feminists like Paglia see Todd as a feminist, too. This ought to really appeal to the Palin's religious right-wing base, doncha think?
I am surprised that a perceptive person like you fell for the Obama hoax. Jack Cashill is a professional writer who is conducting an unbiased analysis of Obama's book, "Dreams from My Father". Cashill says it is an excellent book. But before that, Obama had never written anything of note. Cashill has reviewed over a thousand first manuscripts from new authors, and none could have written "Dreams". Cashill is not sure he could have written it himself. Obama has never said anything in public to indicate the depth of thought and perception revealed in this book. Cashill thinks the book was written by Bill Ayers. Ayers founded the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, and recruited Obama as its first chairman. Some CAC grants went to radical community organizers, working to subvert U. S. sovereignty under a dictatorial UN government. That promoted lawyer Obama into a political player. Then Ayers arranged for the leftist State Senator from their District to announce at Ayers' home, to an audience of influential players, that her chosen successor was Barack Obama. Obama is merely an actor, following script and direction produced by Bill Ayers. The same charge was directed against Ronald Reagan, but was not true. Reagan's voluminous lifetime correspondence proved conclusively his thoughts were his own.
Ayers and Obama are radical leftists, as is the former pastor at Obama's former Church, Jeremiah Wright. The book says Obama constructed for himself a Black identity, nursing anger against Whites for offenses which he had never personally experienced. Brian Nichols, the Black man who killed a judge and three other people in Atlanta, says he was at war against the US because of slavery- not past slavery, but what he considers present slavery. This mindset is more prevalent than most people realize, and both Ayers and Obama are representative of it. As someone who appreciates American liberty, you should be concerned about this.
is that she's actually a GOP voter who keeps pretending she's a Democrat while trolling on Salon.
Here is a link to one of Cashill's columns about Obama. From there you can navigate to the other columns in the series.

As a proud Navy veteran I read Mr. Morgan's letter condemning John McCain with disgust and sorrow.
I was disgusted at his utter lack of simple respect for the sacrifices of his fellow citizens who were willing to wear the uniform of their country and make the ultimate sacrifice in defending it and its interests.
I felt sorrow at Mr. Morgan's selfish ignorance of the oath that America's service men and women swear. During my six years of active duty I heard more times than I can count, We defend democracy, we don't practice it." For Mr. Morgan to condemn Mr. McCain because he followed the orders of his civilian and military leaders and deployed to Vietnam is not only shameful but abhorrent.
So Mr. Morgan, burn your flags and blame America and her heros first, but if you truly want to make a statement or difference, pick up a rifle and stand a watch. Until then, roll up your contempt for John McCain's service into a nice little package and stuff it.
...in fact I wish the Palins had a more traditionally Native respect for the earth rather than "Drill, baby, drill!" Many Americans have native blood, but they have not been brought up in Native traditions. To use Todd's background to vouch for his "authenticity" as a True American is an insult to the local Inuit, who don't like seeing their culture exploited for some politician's ambition.
As a self confessed working class elitist, the graduate of a top university in the UK using the GI Bill, it's often painful to read Camille Paglia's self referential locutions. In an earlier academic experience, at St. Peter's Grade School, in Steubenville, Ohio, we were taught by Dominican nuns to use the word I very carefully - so not to be boorish.
Sarah Palin is a compelling politician. We won't know her capabilities until after the election, when she becomes the Republican Party front runner for 2012. She is likely to be a force in American politics for a long time. She will be formidable after a couple years of study and involvement in international and national affairs.

So the left 'owns' the definition of 'feminist' now? Interesting.
Sarah Palin is the hero of yesterdays feminists. Yes, those bra-burning, sex-loving, equal-pay demanding, work-outside-the-home, latch-key kid mothering feminazi women that conservatives love to hate, think that Palin inestimable.
This makes no sense, as Palin [apparently] loves sex, demands equal pay (one assumes), and does work outside the home. Yet she still is and considers herself conservative and others agree.
Where most of us see vagueness, feminists like Paglia see intelligence and insight.
Better to always be certain and to move on that certainty? Like Bush maybe?
CLUE: it is largely about 'process', not about brute force knowledge. Someone may not know who the king of Buttanustan is, yet may be a brilliant tactician or strategist or analyst.
Where most of us see attack-dog meaness, feminists like Paglia see strength and wile.
Get off it. Libs are some of the meanest people around.
In Todd Palin, where most of us see him using SARAH'S power as a piggy-back for HIS, feminists like Paglia see Todd as a feminist, too.
Here is the nub, isn't it? If a man benefits, it must DE FACTO not be feminism, by the leftist's very definition of feminism. No wonder I cannot stand the left, they feel gender relations is a ZERO SUM GAME and that men must lose at all times. I have more and more suspected that the left just outright despises men. This continual din of anti-male chatter, this constant spilling out of the prejudices against men ultimately damns you people.
Of course, to you people (peh.. used loosely), it was perfectly OKIE DOKIE that Miz Hillary was riding the coattails and benefiting from her husband.
Oh, and no man could EVER be enough of a feminist in the left's eyes. Particularly if he does heinous things like own a gun. It is not enough that Papa Palin raises his kids. He is JUST a mere man.
This ought to really appeal to the Palin's religious right-wing base, doncha think?
Except that they are not locked in their head-up-the-ass prejudices and stereotypes and broadbrushes like you are.
the problem with the left is that it long ago confused the map with the REAL WORLD. Step back from your theories and ENGAGE. We are tired of the rootless rhetoric traipsing around as if it MEANS something.
