Nobody's dummy

Liberals underestimate Sarah Palin's vitality and -- yes -- smarts at their own peril. Plus: Obama's presidential air, Biden's condescending mugging, feminism's lost sisters.

The letters thread is now closed.

On Palin, Doctor Paglia

is thinking with little Camille.

I have a headache

Seriously.

Palin

I think the left has no clue about what it takes to be a leader to get something accomplished. The Democrats have always looked down on women being in power or giving them any type of high ranking position in a cabinet. We will see how other women in America relate to her in November. For years I have listened to women complain about being able to raise children, keep the house and have a job where they get equal pay for the same work. We will see if they really mean it!!

Camille, Camille

But while Fey has nailed Palin's cadences and charm, she can't capture the energy,

If by energy you actually intend "vicious mean streak," then I'm with you.

If I have to watch the Palin clan pass around poor Trig like a sack of potatoes way past his bed-time once more, I will scream. Does no one in that family understand that a baby's head needs to be supported? I was ready to place odds that Piper would drop him on stage.

As for Madonna, I recognized her as a champion of trampiness when she hit the scene back in 1984. What you bemoan about today, Camille, is directly descended from her. Thanks a bunch.

The smell of scorching brie carries all the way to Arizona

"should just pen a love letter in her curlicue language to SP, and see if the latter can understand word one. Couldn't finish this, too ridiculous, enough to make one sick."

You people have just spent weeks devoting every waking electron to flaming Palin for her presumed lack of erudition. But Paglia uses too many of them thar big words for you. Liberals, trying to have it both ways once again.

Sarah Palin, breaking the Union, and witchcraft

Camille: are you mad? You give any credibility to this character Sarah Palin? Are you joking?

She may be just one more melanoma away from the Oval Office. Perhaps you have forgotten this. And this...

Ms Palin dodges subpoenas in Alaska, is married to a man who just months ago wanted to destroy the Union by withdrawing Alaska from it, whose lectures on sexual abstinence have been less than successful in her own family, and who believes in witchcraft.

That's right. Witchcraft. Millions have seen the YouTube video. I gather you haven't. In a spirit of forgiveness, let me give you the url: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwkb9_zB2Pg

In it you will see one Rev Thomas Muthee praying over her, with laying on of hands, to prevent the influence of "witches" on "our Sarah". Anyone half-rational would have, at such a moment, politely decamped. Not our Sarah. She happily stayed, and is now certified "witch-free".

You actually think this crackpot is qualified to hold national office? Sheesh.

Oh contraire, Camlle.....

She's my dummy!!

Palin is a tool...

Sarah Palin is a tool. She is one, or more of the folowing...

A tool to split the 'woman vote'

A tool to ruthlessly promote the worst of fundamental religion

A tool to get votes

A send up of 'strong women' by using her fake accent and her tread worn faux country charm

A tool to spew all of the nasty and vile shit that McCain doesn't want to touch.

A tool to distract from Obama's credability

A tool to restrain women in politics when she flames out.

A shield to protect McCain and herself from undo and harsh criticism

I can right now pick several...

She is a tool nonetheless. A simple and very cunning tool.

What will she do if the mighty Republican slime and vote rigging machine can't ensconce her in the chair that Cheney built so that she can continue the petty bullshit of the previous inhabitants.

And on 'vitality', a half dead puppy would look vital standing alongside McCain...

It's not her 'vitality' nor her 'smarts' that I fear. It's her apparent feeling that her God has promised the job to her. It's very troubling to see someone so sure that they have the tiger by the tail, when it turns out to be a runaway hair extension from the local beauty shop...

I certainly hope she looses. I certainly hope that the 'Troopergate' investigation finds her family to be a petty bunch of vengeful hicks they have appeared to be. She is bringing out the very worst in the idiot class and we will all pay the price for their support of the idle rich at the core of the McCain campaign. But, hey, I could use the extra money McCain will put in my pocket. Too bad it comes from far too many people who need it more than I do...

Margaret Cho agrees with Camille

Cho was on Craig Feurguson and said of the lovely Sarah P: "

I don't want to vote for her but I DO want to have sex with her"

But what would you talk about after you took out the gag....

Tuesday, October 7, 2008 08:43 PM

Time for Ms. Paglia to get some botox treatments for her brain.

Golly gee williwiskers Camille ain't that sweet little thang from up north such a treat? She is just gonna gush her way to oil independence and gush her way to be the leader of the far nut ball right as it wanders for years and years in the desert that Bush and KKKarl and Ronnie and Lee have left behind.

Ignorance with Breasts

is still ignorance. If this woman's views were being spouted by a man, you would be all over her. If anyone is condescending, it's you Camille... to the American public who is beginning to understand the attack dog for what she is.

Charisma

Underestimate the callow selfishness of the American voter at your peril.

Underestimate the chauvinism of the American voter at your peril.

Here is a country that willingly went into an aggressive war with Iraq without any provocation other than "they flinched,".. no, worse, that they responded to our transparent posturing -- "are you man enough to take me on? are you?"

Sarah Palin is the quintessential mean girl you may encounter in high school. She's certainly not very bright, but she knows what gets attention, and she's been posing for daddy's affection while rubbing the "ugly, nerdy girls'" faces into the dirt as long as she has been self-aware.

That seems to be the direction this country wants to take: a nation of idiot jocks who rule through "might is right."

It doesn't work, America.

I hold up China as Exhibit 1 -- here is a country who hasn't entangled themselves in any kind of serious warfare for well over 50 years. China is the nerd of the world. And while we raged around and made an ass of ourselves on a global scale during the Cold War, China sat back and bet wisely.

I was a nerd in school, worse, an outcast. The John McCains, George W Bushes and Sarah Palins of the world would strut around like the owned high school. And, in a way, they did.

Then I grew up and became my own person. I learned hard lessons, and I parlayed it into a six-figure career.

Now the Sarah Palins of high school fame are baby factories, and the George W Bushes didn't manage to achieve better than manager of the local car dealership or become the police chief in some po-dunk hamlet in Ohio or Indiana.

Smarts win. Palin doesn't have them. She has personality, and she reaches out to every failed football star and ex-cheerleader in America.

That's the only thing that makes her dangerous.
