Nobody's dummy

Liberals underestimate Sarah Palin's vitality and -- yes -- smarts at their own peril. Plus: Obama's presidential air, Biden's condescending mugging, feminism's lost sisters.

    People underestimate Camille Paglia's irrelevance

I'm very sad in that I've really come not to expect much of our leadership. My problem with Sarah Palin is not that she is a narcissitic back-stabber whose primary interest is in climbing her way to the top, my problem is she's incompetent in burying the bodies - an essential skill in a narcisstic back-stabber...Borrowing from Lloyd Bentsen, "Sarah, you are no Catherine the Great."

Also, it's the nuclear age and the nuclear issue is probably the most important any leader will have to face in the immediate and coming years - let's, for the sake of any god still extant, pronounce the damned word correctly in the interests of common meaningful useage since we're all going to need to be a part of that discussion. Otherwise have the kindness to get the hell off the stage, or better yet, be yanked off with cane a la an iconic variety show's indication that one's performance is worse than subpar.

And really, Salon, Camille Paglia. She was irrelevant in the 80s and early 90s when I attended college - so many others (Pat Califia among them) - whose work Paglia essentially ripped off and badly - that you could give this space to in the interests of reducing the pablum that Paglia keeps repackaging.
