As for the abortion issue, which seemingly has reached an intellectual impasse for pro-choicers like Paglia, I have this to offer: your intellect is seriously deficient if the only way to combat the pro-lifers ethical "arsenal" is to admit that abortion is murder, and continue the argument from there.
Firstly, since you believe in the death penalty then by simple syllogism should we execute thousands of abortionists and hundreds of thousands of women every year?
Secondly - newsflash - abortion is merely a medical procedure. People in Europe, Australia (where I'm from) and other semi-civilized nations largely understand abortion as such. No angst, no bullshit, except for a few religious goons.
When will you learn already that you CANNOT debate with the plethora of fascistic, religious nuts the "issue" of abortion: destroy it as an issue! Don't stoop to these fascists by admitting abortion is murder, because you will destroy your own cause and achieve nothing in the fights ahead! Am I the only one who can see this??
