    Stupidity is as stupidity does

    Paglia has always represented a certain dumbing down of the culture. She burst into her specifically specialized piece of pop culture fame with Feminine Personae, leaning heavily on the credibility of her thesis advisor, Harold Bloom. But her writing has always been cliched, and dull. As a pop personality, she signifies a rebel, against the conventional wisdom of the academy. Which works, until you ask yourself, has she actually said anything. She never does.
