  • Of course they never DO stop reading

They just continue to read her column month after month. I too wish these losers would take their advice and quit reading her and leave the rest of us alone. At least you would hope they could add some constructive criticism, but it never seems to come.

I don't understand the people who say they are going to stop reading Salon because of her.

  • No no manos you are mixing your metaphors

"I think I can," was from the little engine that could. Hey- he won that race didn't he? Don't worry about my spirits they are just fine. I would not have survived the last twenty years voting as a democrat if I couldn't take a little heat or disappointment. I voted for Paul Tsongas in the '91 primary. Talk about rose colored glasses! I accepted the eventual nomination of Bill Clinton and surprise, once he took office, his policy became more centrist than left. That was when I learned the lesson of campaign promises and caviar dreams (apology to Robin Leach for that one). The thing is, Clinton was an effective leader. He was far from perfect but the first two term democrat in over 20 years. And you know how he achieved that, by playing hardball and slinging the mud right back. Unfortunately, our political system requires this. I admire Obama's ideals, but in the real world- not just the one envisioned by our one sided primary-life is not fair. What will happen if by some miracle of right wing apathy Obama gets into office...anyone who thinks he will effectively change the status quo of American politics will be crushed and feel horribly betrayed.

  • No, you're very much mistaken..

It was from the little Clinton Choo-choo that crashed. You idiot! You're obviously on the wrong page.

  • Most disorganized lefties ever

Are you are sick of having Salon give a forum to Camille Paglia? Been feeling ignored by the editors? Wondering what to do to finally get their attention?

Salon is a business. As long as you visit their website, they don't care if you hate Paglia or any other columnist.

If enough people go away for 2 days after the publication of any Paglia article you can bet folks will take notice. Especially if those days are prime mid-week high-traffic days. Decreased page views=decreased advertising $=people not getting bonuses. Poof! No more Paglia & god bless Americky.

    & you call yourselves liberals...sheesh.

  • HRC is not a feminist...

I am the same age, gender and race as Hillary. I entered the workforce wearing little suits and man-ties. I struggled to pay for child care, and advanced professionally one little step at a time. I finished my degree and got advanced training. I struggled for years with no husband, and for several other years with an abusive husband. I am now living my slice of the American dream, having raised and educated a fine daughter, watched her become a good mother herself, while I continiue to enjoy my profession and my home and independence, as well as most my health.

I am more of a feminist than Hillary, who has achieved very little on her own. What's worse is claiming credit for the achievements of the Clinton years, and I think she actually believes it. I am also disappointed in her for not being upfront about her alleged bisexuality. If it is true, fine....just be honest about it. Again, she tries to gain "credibility" disguised as one who clings to her husband's coattails.

The true lesson of feminism and divsersity in general is not to judge anyone based on their sex or race, etc. For her to think all women will vote for her because she is a woman is the most anti-feminist assumption of all.

  • You're right Camille

Art is dead. It's been replaced by anatomy.

  • What upsets me about Ferraro's Comments

I don't think it implies Obama has gotten this far because black people have voted for him in the election (the proverbial 90% black racist vote) but because it implies the ONLY reason white people vote for him is because he's black.

It's like she's saying he's the affirmative action canidate, white guilt is driving people to vote for him, etc, when I don't beleive that's the case at all. Look, in terms of legislative experience, both Hillary and Obama are comprable. Ferraro herself didn't have a lot of legislative experience when she ran for VP. And don't forget George Bush; being Governor sure doesn't give you that much foreign policy experience. How does one explain him getting so far with such a thin resume? Sure, Clinton was the first lady, but she didn't have a national security clearance. She might know world leaders (if they are still in power from 8 years ago) personally, but that doesn't mean they are her best friends and they chat every day over tea and crumpets.

I'm sick of Clinton supporters (the ones who write articles and work on the campaign) treating Obama supporters like idiots, reverse racists, racists, and cult members. They need us if Clinton gets the nomination. I'm fine with them attacking Obama directly; that's the nature of politics. But it seems stupid to alienate the cross section of voters who support Obama. Those votes are the ones which will put her over the top in November, if she gets the nomination. She should be kissing our tails.

I hate to say it, (and anecdotal evidence should be taken with a grain of salt) but a lot of the people I know who support Obama won't vote for McCain in the election; they just won't vote at all. Which isn't going to be good for the Democratic party.

Not me of course. If it comes down to it, I'll pull the lever for Clinton.

  • Once again you make my point...

Poke, poke, poke out come the fangs. Really you are too easy...piss off...idiot. When provoked you are quick to lash out in anger. When you lose- like a child, you lie down and have a tantrum and spew expletives and nasty retorts. Are we really supposed to subscribe to your viewpoint when you can't even manage wit when challenged. Seriously, have you ever been court ordered to anger management. I'm gonna go on a limb and guess...Yeah. I'm on the wrong page- What are you-the Jim Crow moderater of the forum? Should I go to the ladies blog? You wound me.
